In a surprising twist, former President Donald Trump has won over none other than Hollywood superstar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, a man Trump once believed didn’t like him.

During an appearance on the show “Six Feet Under with Mark Calaway,” Trump spoke with the wrestling legend, The Undertaker, about an unexpected call he received from the former wrestler-turned-actor.

As reported by The New York Post, Trump, now 78, admitted, “I never thought he liked me, and I felt badly because I think he’s a terrific guy.”

He then revealed the surprising moment when UFC promoter Dana White called to tell him that Johnson was impressed by how Trump handled an assassination attempt that occurred in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.

Donald Trump speaks during a rally at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno on Oct. 11, 2024.

“When I was shot, you may have heard about it, Rock called Dana White and said, ‘I want to have his number. What he did is sort of incredible,’” Trump recounted to The Undertaker, sharing how The Rock had praised him for his bravery.

Trump, however, downplayed the heroics, adding, “He considered it bravery. I don’t know, to me, I considered it, ‘What’s going on here?’ But it was very nice, The Rock.”

Johnson, who has toyed with the idea of a political career himself, expressed his support for Trump following the attack.

During an interview with Patrick Bet-David, Johnson expressed his disapproval of the attempt on Trump’s life, stating, “Whether you love Donald, don’t love Donald, it doesn’t matter. They tried to assassinate him. There’s no room for that.” Johnson, 52, emphasized that even during divisive times, such violence is not what America stands for.

This new camaraderie is certainly unexpected, especially as Johnson had once endorsed Joe Biden during the 2020 election.

However, Johnson has since made it clear that he won’t be endorsing Biden for a second term, citing his dissatisfaction with the current direction of the country.

Speaking out against “cancel culture” and “woke” policies, Johnson explained his decision: “The endorsement that I made years ago with Biden was one I thought was the best decision for me at that time. I realize now going into this election, I will not do that, my goal is to bring this country together.”

Johnson also highlighted his desire to stay out of the political spotlight for now, saying, “I will keep my politics to myself. It is between me and the ballot box. Like a lot of us out there, not trusting of all politicians, I do trust the American people and whoever they vote for, that is my president and who I will support 100%.”
