Trump’s Advisor on Mission to “Clear the Decks” with Resignation Demands [WATCH]

Incoming National Security Advisor Mike Waltz is preparing for a significant shakeup at the National Security Council (NSC) as President-elect Donald Trump takes office later this month.

In a recent interview with Breitbart News, Waltz detailed his plans to remove all intelligence officials currently detailed to the NSC by 12:01 p.m. Eastern Time on January 20, shortly after Trump takes the oath of office.

Waltz emphasized that his agenda and expectations have been made “crystal clear” to both incoming staff and officials appointed during the Biden administration. “Everybody is going to resign at 12:01 on January 20,” Waltz stated.

“We’re working through our process to get everybody their clearances and through the transition process now. Our folks know who we want out in the agencies, we’re putting those requests in, and in terms of the detailees, they’re all going to go back.”

Under the NSC’s structure, the National Security Advisor oversees a team of presidential appointees and “detailees,” who are career intelligence officers assigned from various agencies, including the FBI, CIA, NSA, and Pentagon.

These detailees specialize in areas such as counterterrorism, cybersecurity, and regional portfolios, including the Middle East, Asia, and Europe.

They report to presidential appointees to ensure the president’s agenda is implemented across federal agencies.

During Trump’s first term, holdovers from the Obama administration, embedded within the NSC, posed significant challenges to his agenda.

Notably, these individuals were involved in perpetuating the debunked Russian collusion narrative and undermining Trump’s policies.

Alexander Vindman, a detailee, served as a key witness in Trump’s first impeachment trial and became a focal point of controversy.

Waltz intends to prevent similar disruptions by ensuring no holdovers remain. “The folks we’re bringing in are 100 percent aligned with the president’s agenda,” Waltz said. He noted that the incoming administration is well-prepared to replace detailees with individuals committed to advancing Trump’s policies.

Waltz highlighted the lessons learned from Trump’s initial term, where resistance to his agenda was widespread.

He pointed to Vindman as an example of how career officials delayed or disrupted the administration’s goals. “The issue with Vindman wasn’t during transition—the issue with Vindman was he was already slated to transfer but didn’t come in until the summer or fall after,” Waltz explained.

He contrasted the current atmosphere with 2017, noting that Trump Derangement Syndrome had fueled opposition at every turn.

However, he expressed confidence that the failures of the Biden-Harris administration have shifted attitudes, both within federal agencies and among the public.

“Now, after seeing and feeling four years of progressive governance under Biden and seeing the world come unglued, we’re not even seeing the levels of resistance to his agenda,” Waltz said.

He added that his team has cultivated strong relationships within federal agencies, enabling them to identify and recruit officials fully aligned with Trump’s vision.

Waltz affirmed that the incoming administration will focus on restoring order to the NSC and prioritizing national security issues.

By staffing the council with loyal and capable individuals, he aims to eliminate internal obstacles and ensure the president’s agenda is carried out effectively.

“The key members of my team have relationships out in these agencies, and we know who is completely on board,” Waltz said.

With a clear plan and a focus on loyalty, the Trump administration is set to hit the ground running, with the National Security Council at the forefront of its efforts.
