President Donald Trump announced Monday that White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer and will begin treatment while continuing to serve in her role.

Trump disclosed the diagnosis in a public statement, describing Wiles as a key member of his administration and expressing confidence in her medical outlook.

“Susie Wiles is an incredible Chief of Staff, a great person, and one of the strongest people I know but, unfortunately, she has been diagnosed with early stage breast cancer, and has decided to take on this challenge, IMMEDIATELY, as opposed to waiting.”

Here’s What They’re Not Telling You About Your Retirement

Trump said Wiles is working with a strong team of medical professionals and that doctors have provided an encouraging prognosis.

“She has a fantastic medical team, and her prognosis is excellent!”

According to the president, Wiles intends to continue working throughout her treatment.

“During the treatment period, she will be spending virtually full time at the White House, which makes me, as President, very happy!”

Trump also praised Wiles’ decision to continue performing her duties during the treatment process.

“Her Strength and her Commitment to continue doing the job she loves, and does so well, while undergoing treatment, tells you everything you need to know about her.”

He described Wiles as a trusted advisor within the administration.

“Susie, as one of my closest and most important advisors, is tough and deeply committed to serving the American People.”

Trump concluded his remarks by expressing confidence in her recovery and offering support from both himself and First Lady Melania Trump.

“She will soon be better than ever!”

“Melania and I are with her in every way, and we look forward to working with Susie on the many big and wonderful things that are happening for the benefit of our Country!”

Wiles has served as President Trump’s chief of staff since the start of his second term in office.

She previously worked as a senior political strategist and played a major role in Trump’s campaign operations before taking the position inside the White House.

Following the announcement, Wiles confirmed details about her upcoming treatment in comments to The New York Times. She said doctors detected the cancer early and that she plans to begin treatment soon.

“Nearly one in eight women in the United States will face this diagnosis,” Wiles said.

She noted that many women across the country face the same challenge while continuing their daily responsibilities.

“Every day, these women continue to raise their families, go to work and serve their communities with strength and determination. I now join their ranks.”

Wiles said she expects to begin a course of treatment that will last several weeks. Despite the diagnosis, she plans to remain active in her role at the White House during that time.

She also expressed gratitude for the medical care she has received.

“I am grateful to have an outstanding team of doctors who detected the cancer early.”

Wiles also thanked the president for his support during the diagnosis and treatment process.

“I am also deeply thankful for the support and encouragement of President Trump as I undergo treatment and continue serving in my current role.”

Breast cancer remains one of the most common cancer diagnoses among women in the United States. According to health organizations, early detection often improves treatment outcomes and long-term survival rates.

The White House has indicated that Wiles will maintain her responsibilities as chief of staff while undergoing treatment.

The role places her at the center of daily White House operations, coordinating policy priorities and advising the president.

Trump’s statement described Wiles as continuing to work from the White House during the treatment period, reflecting the administration’s expectation that she will remain involved in day-to-day activities.

The announcement comes as the administration continues its second-term agenda in Washington, with Wiles remaining one of the president’s closest advisers and a central figure in White House operations.
