A Mexican national with a long criminal history was deported from the United States for the 40th time during a two-week immigration enforcement operation led by the Trump administration in Houston, Texas.

As reported by The New York Post, Julian Estrada-Garcia, 36, was among 174 illegal migrants removed from the country last month during an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation targeting repeat offenders and individuals with criminal records.

Estrada-Garcia, who has repeatedly crossed the U.S. southern border illegally, was deported back to Mexico from Texas.

ICE confirmed that while in the United States, Estrada-Garcia had committed several criminal offenses, including driving while intoxicated, drug possession, and fraud. He has also been convicted of illegally entering the United States on four separate occasions.

Field Office Director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations in Houston, Bret Bradford, stated:

“This is just a small snapshot of the amazing work that the brave men and women at ICE do every day to enhance public safety in Southeast Texas. ICE will continue to aggressively pursue and remove anyone who threatens the safety of our communities and the national security of our country.”

Estrada-Garcia was not the only individual with a lengthy deportation and criminal history removed during the Houston operation.

ICE also removed a 48-year-old Mexican national with 13 previous removals from the United States and 25 criminal convictions. Additionally, agents deported a 50-year-old confirmed member of the violent Florencia 13 gang, also with a significant criminal background.

The enforcement action is part of a broader crackdown on illegal immigration and public safety threats launched under the Trump administration.

Since President Donald Trump took office on January 20, ICE has conducted a series of operations targeting criminal aliens and repeat immigration violators across the country.

To date, the administration’s intensified immigration enforcement effort has resulted in over 113,000 arrests and more than 100,000 deportations.

The surge in arrests and removals has stretched ICE’s detention resources. Agency officials report that ICE has already reached full capacity for detainees, prompting calls for Congress to provide additional funding for more bed space to sustain the growing enforcement demands.

ICE officials reiterated that the agency remains committed to upholding public safety and national security by removing individuals who present a threat to communities across the United States.

The Houston-area operation highlights ICE’s focus on prioritizing individuals with prior criminal records and those with repeated immigration violations.

The Trump administration has consistently emphasized the need for robust border security measures and stricter immigration enforcement to address the surge in illegal crossings and reduce the number of repeat offenders who re-enter the country after deportation.

Estrada-Garcia’s 40th deportation underscores the challenge of dealing with serial border crossers and highlights the ongoing concerns related to immigration enforcement and the strain placed on ICE resources.

ICE stated that such operations will continue as part of its mandate to enforce U.S. immigration laws and ensure community safety.
