Steve Bannon, founder of War Room and former chief strategist for President Donald Trump, spoke on Saturday about the Trump administration’s ongoing efforts to dismantle what he described as the “administrative state.”
In his remarks, Bannon emphasized that this process is a necessary purge of bureaucratic structures that he claims have worked against Trump and his policies.
During his discussion, Bannon repeatedly referred to the restructuring within federal agencies as a purge, stating that the Trump administration is removing entrenched bureaucratic elements.

“This is gonna continue. They are purging. It’s a purge. Some people around the President don’t want to say that, but it’s a purge. You have to. You have to get the virus out of the body,” Bannon said.
Bannon argued that the current state of the country is the result of mismanagement and corruption within the administrative system.
“We allowed this country to get into a terrible, terrible, terrible place. A dark place run by bad people, evil people,” he added.
Bannon also claimed that the so-called deep state has targeted Trump with legal actions, aiming to remove him from the political landscape permanently.
“You’ve got a bad element in this that’s deep state, and he ain’t gonna tolerate it. Let me repeat, they tried to put him in prison for 300 years on just one aspect of it, 300 years to die in prison,” Bannon said, referring to Trump’s multiple legal battles.
Bannon criticized the handling of January 6th prosecutions, arguing that individuals who entered the Capitol have had their lives upended by legal proceedings.
“Look at these guys, just men and women just walked through the Capitol, they didn’t care, break you, and bankrupt you by legal. They don’t care, they don’t care your life is destroyed, your business is gone. They don’t care, they didn’t care,” Bannon said.
He stated that the administrative state believed those targeted by prosecutions were powerless, but that they are now realizing the political movement backing Trump is stronger than expected.
“They didn’t care cause they thought you were powerless and you were never coming back. And now they understand that you actually are, I don’t know, pretty powerful,” Bannon continued.
Bannon described Trump as a leader focused on action rather than drawn-out government processes, stating that he is not waiting for committee hearings to conclude before making decisions.
“I think the timing of it is magnificent,” Bannon said.
“Had every option in the world to wait, oh no, the committee will vote Kash today, and maybe the Senate floor, he doesn’t care, doesn’t care. I want it done,” Bannon said, indicating that Trump is pushing forward with his plans regardless of congressional proceedings.
Bannon compared Trump’s leadership style to that of Winston Churchill during World War II, citing Churchill’s use of the phrase “Action this day” to demand immediate results.
“What did Churchill write on the top of the memos? ‘Action this day,’” Bannon said.
He argued that Trump shares this mentality, taking decisive action on various fronts, including border security and mass deportations.
“Action this day. That’s Trump. That’s why so many things happen simultaneously. This is just one aspect of it. You can take it go back, you know, from we told you, the start, stopping the kinetic part of the third World War, to the mass deportations. What you are doing is securing the border, all of it,” Bannon said.
As Trump’s administration continues its efforts to restructure the federal government, Bannon’s comments provide insight into the strategy and urgency behind these moves.
The coming months are expected to bring further developments as the administration works to implement its agenda.
