Another story of that looks like it could be an attempt to make a political point with violence out of Utah. Two men have been arrested after leaving an incendiary device under a local news outlet’s van. The device was real but luckily did not ignite as planned.

Two men have been arrested after allegedly leaving an incendiary device underneath a FOX 13 News vehicle and then forcing an evacuation of a Magna neighborhood when the FBI served an overnight warrant on their home.

The men, Adeeb Ahamed Nasir, 58, and Adil Justice Ahmed Nasir, 31, were booked into jail and face multiple charges, including Threat of Terrorism, Possessing Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Possessing Explosive Devices.

The device underneath the FOX 13 News vehicle was originally located on Friday and determined to be real. According to officials, the device had been lit but “failed to function.”

After finding the device, the FBI raided a home in Magna, Utah where the men lived. There they found additional devices which turned out to be fake bombs. CNN also notes some signage outside the home.

Additional explosives, along with firearms, illegal narcotics and other paraphernalia, were found in the home, according to court records.

Photos and videos from the scene showed anti-Trump signs on display outside the home.

But don’t worry, the mother of the younger Nasir (and the ex-wife of the older one) says her son is innocent. In fact, she claims he is being targeted because of his anti-Trump views.

The mother of Adil Nasir and ex-wife of Adeeb Nasir said that the two men had hired a lawyer, though she did not know the lawyer’s name.

The woman, who requested anonymity for safety reasons, said that she believed her son “did not commit anything,” and that he had been wrongly accused because he was a vocal opponent of the Trump administration. “He could not even hurt a bird,” she said.

While executing the federal warrant, investigators found two “hoax weapons of mass destruction” inside the residence, along with two firearms and illegal narcotics. The affidavit of probable cause said “contraband and evidence of crimes outside the scope of the original warrant” included explosives and explosive-related components.

Before the two devices were determined to be hoaxes, however, the two men said that they were real devices, the documents said.

For some reason that I can’t begin to understand, these idiots told the FBI that fake bombs in their home were real bombs. That resulted in the whole neighborhood being evacuated before the bomb squad found they were not real bombs. That may be the dumbest things I’ve heard someone doing in quite a while.

No one is commenting on a motive yet but two men of Pakistani descent allegedly built an incendiary device and put it under a Fox 13 News van. The son is apparently very anti-Trump and had a sign reading “Is he dead yet?” in the front yard along with a “TACO” flag.

The “TACO” flag is a reference to President Trump. That term went viral back in May.

Memes mocking President Donald Trump, dubbing him “TACO Trump,” have exploded across the internet. The term, which means “Trump Always Chickens Out,” has come into the lexicon as the president has come under fire for the handling of his tariff policies.

Here’s an example of a similar flag from a few months ago.

The home was also flying an upside down American flag from a flagpole. I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to suggest there could be a political motive here (though the van was for a Fox affiliate not for Fox News Channel). We’ll have to wait and see what facts turn up as the case moves forward.

Despite this, at least one lefty commenter attempted to blame the actions of these Trump haters on Trump himself.

Maybe the president should stop calling the media the “enemy of the people“.

Rhetoric, right? pic.twitter.com/ASSc5LpMLm

Yes, I’m sure these anti-Trump people were taking their cues on the media from Trump, which is why the targeted a Fox van. That makes perfect sense, Brian.
