During a video teleconference on Wednesday with the 55 FBI field office supervisors, Patel raised the idea of incorporating training from the world’s premier mixed martial arts (MMA) organization into the Bureau’s fitness regimen.

According to four sources familiar with the call, Patel expressed interest in UFC-style training after being introduced to it by incoming Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino.

Bongino, a well-known UFC fan, reportedly convinced Patel to try out the training himself.

The sources indicated that Patel found the experience valuable and suggested that similar training could benefit FBI agents in improving their physical conditioning and combat readiness.

While Patel appears to support the idea, some within law enforcement circles are questioning the necessity of such a partnership.

“There is training the FBI receives in physical altercations,” a former Justice Department official said anonymously.

“If Kash Patel believed that should be beefed up, the answer is not to go to Donald Trump’s best friend who runs the UFC.”

“It’s clearly motivated by the glitz and glamour show and Trump’s friend.”

At this time, it is not entirely clear what the scope of the proposed partnership would entail.

Whether the UFC’s involvement would focus on improving FBI agents’ overall fitness or directly enhancing their combat skills remains uncertain.

Regardless of the political criticism surrounding UFC President Dana White’s close relationship with President Donald Trump, the UFC itself is a global powerhouse valued at over $12.3 billion.

The organization has no financial need for an FBI contract, and any potential collaboration would likely be driven by mutual interest in fitness and training excellence rather than monetary gain.

According to the sources, Patel informed the supervisors during the call that discussions with the UFC had already begun.
