Vice President JD Vance delivered remarks at the American Dynamism Summit on Tuesday, outlining the Trump administration’s vision for artificial intelligence and its role in revitalizing American manufacturing.
Speaking before an audience of industry leaders and policymakers, Vance emphasized the administration’s commitment to fostering U.S. dominance in AI while supporting a resurgence in domestic manufacturing.
“We’re going to slash regulations, we’re going to reduce the cost of energy so that you can build, build, build,” Vance stated.
“Our goal is to incentivize investment in our own borders, in our own businesses, our own workers, and our own innovation.”

Vance underscored the administration’s goal of keeping investments within the U.S. and ensuring that technological advancements benefit American workers.
“We want [people] investing and building right here in the United States of America,” he said.
During the summit, Vance also recounted a past encounter with Silicon Valley executives regarding the societal impact of artificial intelligence.

He recalled attending a 2017 dinner with a group of influential tech leaders, where the conversation turned to concerns about AI replacing human jobs.
One CEO, Vance recalled, dismissed these concerns, arguing that displaced workers could find a new sense of purpose through “digital fully immersive gaming.”
Vance shared his wife’s immediate reaction to the remark.
“My wife texted me under the table and said, ‘We have to get the hell out of here, these people are f’ing crazy,’” he said.

Since becoming Second Lady, Usha Vance has largely maintained a low profile, focusing on adjusting to her new role and helping the Vance family’s three young children settle into their new routine. However, her connection to the administration has not shielded her from media criticism.
CBS News recently ran a story attempting to tie Usha Vance’s mother, Lakshmi Chilukuri, to the debate over Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies. Chilukuri, who serves as the provost of the University of California San Diego’s Sixth College, has expressed support for DEI, a stance that differs from JD Vance’s public opposition to such initiatives.
Vice President Vance responded swiftly, dismissing the media’s efforts to target his family.
“This story exists because CBS has decided that harassing my mother-in-law is a reasonable price in order to attack President Trump,” Vance stated.
He also defended his relationship with his family, making it clear that political differences do not define their personal interactions.
“I love my mother-in-law. If she doesn’t share my views on DEI, I suppose I’ll have to do what 99 percent of Americans do when confronted with a family member who doesn’t always agree with them: get over it.”
Vance continues to take a leading role in the administration’s efforts to balance technological advancement with economic growth.
His remarks at the American Dynamism Summit reinforced the Trump administration’s stance on strengthening domestic industry while pushing back against policies that prioritize corporate interests over American workers.
As the administration moves forward with its manufacturing and AI policies, Vance’s role in shaping these discussions remains central.
With 2028 on the horizon, his leadership and engagement in these key areas could play a significant role in the future of the Republican Party.
