Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins was interviewed this week to discuss issues affecting veterans, but the conversation quickly shifted when CNN’s Kaitlan Collins attempted to turn the spotlight on a non-scandal involving Signal chats from the Trump administration.
Collins, who was not involved in the alleged discussions, found himself facing questions on the matter, with the media pushing the narrative about secret war plans and leaks allegedly uncovered through these chats.
The issue began when Jeffrey Goldberg, a known anti-Trump journalist and editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, claimed that he was “accidentally” added to a secure Signal chat where top Trump administration officials discussed military operations.

Goldberg suggested that “war plans” were leaked in these chats, but his claims have been widely dismissed as false.
Despite the lack of evidence, the media has seized on the story, fueling a frenzy among DC elites and those with longstanding anti-Trump sentiments.
When asked about the matter during the interview, Collins, who was not part of the conversation, deflected the question, stating that he was not privy to any such information.
“I wasn’t on the chat,” he pointed out, emphasizing that he was there to discuss veteran affairs, not to entertain baseless claims regarding the administration.

Collins recognized the broader strategy at play, which seemed aimed at creating divisions within the GOP by leveraging unfounded stories to attack the president.
Collins made it clear that those who still harbor animosity toward President Trump within the Republican Party have effectively aligned themselves with Democrats.
He noted that the old anti-Trump establishment within the GOP has been largely replaced by a more unified party in support of the president’s agenda.
After being pressed on the Signal chat again, Collins grew frustrated with the line of questioning and responded sharply to CNN’s Kaitlin Collins, who continued to steer the conversation toward the chat: “Respectfully, sir. I’m asking the questions here,” the CNN host remarked.
Collins, who has a background in military service, expressed his anger not just about the unfounded claims of war plan leaks but also over a separate accusation leveled at Navy veteran Zachary Young.
The media had tried to exploit the story of Young allegedly taking advantage of vulnerable Afghans trying to flee the country after the Taliban’s return to power.
Collins hit back at these accusations, accusing the network of unfairly targeting veterans in this way.
HOLY SHlT!
VA Secretary Doug Collins just SHUT DOWN propagandist Kaitlan Collins.
She tried to corner him about the Signal chats and he wasn’t having a SINGLE SECOND of it.
He was COOKING.

His remarks highlight the growing frustration within conservative circles, as some media outlets continue to attack individuals who are not part of the alleged wrongdoing.
Collins also referenced the media’s track record, including CNN’s earlier legal troubles when the network was ordered to pay millions in damages earlier this year, underlining the ongoing issues with biased reporting.

The exchange underscores the broader media strategy to undermine the Trump administration, even in the absence of substantial evidence.
Despite the lack of validity to the allegations of war plan leaks, the liberal media continues to amplify the story in an attempt to discredit those associated with the president.
Collins’ deflection and critique of the media’s tactics serve as a reminder that, even amid these distractions, the focus should remain on real issues, such as the well-being and care of veterans.
