Viral Video Shows ‘Angry Karen’s’ Outburst Over Daughter’s Dream Dress [WATCH]

A viral video from Gossip Gowns, a formal dress boutique in Coorparoo, Brisbane, has sparked widespread attention after a frustrated mother confronted staff over her daughter missing out on a “dream” dress.

The incident, labeled “Crazy Karen Encounter” in the video, has received millions of views on TikTok since it was posted two days ago.

According to staff at Gossip Gowns, the confrontation began when the mother, referred to online as a “Karen,” stormed into the store demanding to speak with a manager.

The store had been recording a TikTok video at the time, and a staff member continued filming but pointed the camera downward during the altercation to avoid capturing the woman’s face.

The mother accused the boutique of allowing another girl to “sneak in” and “steal” her daughter’s formal dress.

“Everyone knows she wanted the blue dress, they all talk about it and some little sneak’s come in and taken her dress,” the mother said in the video. “I want [my daughter] to have the dress she’s always dreamed of. So we gotta make this right.”

Gossip Gowns, like many formal boutiques in Brisbane, operates a policy to ensure students from the same school are not sold the same dress.

Staff explained that the woman’s daughter had visited the store previously but left without purchasing the dress to consider her options.

In the interim, another girl from the same school reserved the dress.

Despite being told about the store policy, the mother demanded that the boutique override the reservation and allow her daughter to purchase the dress.

When staff refused to disclose the name of the girl who had reserved the dress, the mother persisted. “Pull it up and show me … I bet I know who it is,” she said.

A staff member calmly replied, “We can’t disclose that information to customers.”

The mother continued her tirade, suggesting the other girl should choose a different color. “Put ’em in a green, put ’em in a pink. Let my girl have her blue. Please.”

After being informed again that the policy could not be changed, the mother threatened to take her business elsewhere.

“You’re going to lose a customer. I’m telling you. I know a lot of people and I’ve got a lot of young girls coming through,” she said before storming out, adding, “You’ll be hearing from me.”

Staff later captioned the video with a claim that the mother had allegedly found out the identity of the girl who reserved the dress and had begun harassing her.

Viewers praised the staff’s professionalism during the confrontation.
