Eight billion bucks – that’s with a ‘B’ – gone at both the stroke of midnight and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) director Russ Vought’s pen.

POOF

Beats anything I ever did at Nordstrom.

The difference being, of course, I enjoyed doing that, and major dad sometimes didn’t mind it so much.

While I have no doubt that Russ Vought enjoyed it, too, those on the receiving end of the vanishing largesse are howling bloody murder.

Nearly $8 billion in Green New Scam funding to fuel the Left’s climate agenda is being cancelled. More info to come from @ENERGY.

The projects are in the following states: CA, CO, CT, DE, HI, IL, MD, MA, MN, NH, NJ, NM, NY, OR, VT, WA

— Russ Vought (@russvought) October 1, 2025

It was Green and Vought is mean.

The Trump administration’s threat to cut nearly $8 billion in clean energy funding across a swath of states that voted against President Donald Trump in the 2024 elections set off a chorus of criticism from Democrats accusing the administration of abusing its power.

White House budget chief Russ Vought’s social media post on X on Wednesday promising the administration would cancel the “Green New Scam funding to fuel the Left’s climate agenda” in 16 states was the latest lashing out by the Trump administration against Democratic lawmakers in the budget fight that has shut the federal government.

The states Vought listed as targets for the cuts all voted for former Vice President Kamala Harris in last year’s presidential election, though two of them — Vermont and New Hampshire — are currently led by Republican governors.

CALL A WAAHMBULANCE

You mean like when Biden canceled the Keystone XL pipeline, stopped border wall construction, and scrapped oil and gas leases in ANWR—each in red states.

Besides whining like the sad little weaselly wimpette he is, Schiff’s sniveling screed overlooks the simple fact of the situation. First, had the Democrat not been determined to die on the hill of healthcare for illegals, and gone along with the budget deal instead of insisting on the Schumer Shutdown, Vought wouldn’t have the authority to touch these program dollars.

But Dems dug in, and the OMB got turned loose to rampage across the fiscal landscape.

The second issue with Schiff’s whine is that Vought is targeting dollars that were specifically targeted by a lame duck Biden administration in a last-minute, desperate, shoveling cash out the door/gold bars off the decks of the Titanic. POTATUS and his gang of thieves wanted to get as much unaccounted-for Green grifting grant money as possible into the hands of NGOs and blue-state governments. They were well aware that the incoming Trump administration would shut the cash faucet off.

It was shameless enough that the Department of Energy’s own Inspector General sent what was basically a ‘cease and desist the handouts’ letter, not that it stopped anything.

As has proven to be the case time and again in the nine months or so this administration has been in office, the folks that Trump put in place to head these departments came in ready to rumble, and the miscreants who left or who were benefitting from the grift all the years prior have seriously underestimated just how prepared they are when they have a chance to pounce…as Republicans do.

Democrats righteously stepping on their own…well…you-know-whats by shutting the government down gave OMB and Energy the perfect legal opening to pounce on a list they had ready and waiting.

This isn’t a selective clawback of funds based on voting records. It’s a targeted strike on what had been an illegal disbursement of funds to begin with. You’ll never guess EXCLUSIVELY where those improperly vetted funds went in the waning days of the Biden administration, either.

Clue: it weren’t Texas

Well this is fkg awkward isn’t it.

ALL the money from the Green New Scam went to 16 Democratic Led States ONLY. pic.twitter.com/cWyCj24Son

These were funds that had already and repeatedly been identified in Energy Department IG reviews as part of a wider pattern of improper accountability for handing out the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) sourced grants at the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED)  during those frantic last months.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Inspector General (IG) has released another report on the failure of the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED) to responsibly implement billions of dollars in Green New Scam awards, reinforcing concerns with how billions of dollars were rushed out the door without proper due diligence. This latest report found OCED did not have adequate internal controls to oversee its $5.8 billion Industrial Demonstrations Program (IDP) funded through the Inflation Reduction Act, and as a result, OCED has put at risk IDP outcomes, including unachieved goals and objectives, improperly reimbursed costs, fraud, waste, and undisclosed conflicts-of-interest.

This report follows a previous IG report issued on June 26, 2025 which found that OCED did not plan, resource, or develop controls to ensure the $8 billion hydrogen hub program would meet its goals and objectives; OCED and the hydrogen hub program did not address overall programmatic risks prior to awarding billions of dollars; and OCED did not conduct an initial programmatic risk assessment of internal or external control environments, as required. Another IG report issued on May 19, 2025 concluded that DOE’s Grid Deployment Office’s (GDO) Grid Resilience and Innovation Partnership Program (GRIP), partially funded by OCED, did not have adequate internal controls. Without a robust internal controls system, the IG concluded that GDO may not identify risks that could negatively impact the GRIP program’s outcomes, such as improperly reimbursed costs, fraud, waste, and undisclosed conflicts of interest.

Compounding these failures, between November 2024 through early January 2025, OCED chose to obligate more than $5 billion in funding on IDP and other projects beyond the first phase of an award, making it more challenging for the new Administration to take a responsible look at whether these awards should receive such funding.

Oh, hell, yeah, the Trump DoE was coming for the money if there was any way to get it back, as it had never been properly disbursed to begin with.

…The Energy Department said in a news release that it decided to terminate $7.56 billion for 223 projects after a “thorough, individualized review.”

“President Trump promised to protect taxpayer dollars and expand America’s supply of affordable, reliable, and secure energy. Today’s [cancellations] deliver on that commitment,” Energy Secretary Chris Wright said in a statement. “Rest assured, the Energy Department will continue reviewing awards to ensure that every dollar works for the American people.”

The Energy Department has not released a list of projects that are subject to the cancellations. The department did not respond to messages seeking comment.

…Wright said the Energy Department has been reviewing funding that was “rushed through in the final months of the Biden administration with inadequate documentation by any reasonable business standard.” Funding recipients have 30 days to appeal the terminations, the department said.

WAAH

~ Schumer Shutdown architects.

…Responding to Vought’s announcement, Democratic lawmakers said that cancelling Energy Department funding is an effort by the Trump administration to punish Democrats during the government shutdown.

This is where they’re wrong. Had there been a mechanism – and the current administration has been trying the entire time – to claw these funds back sooner, they would have done so immediately.

So Dems shouldn’t worry their pointy little sombrero-covered heads about it being personal.

In this case, it was all business.

The people’s business.

The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.

But we can’t do it without you. Please help Ed, David, John, and me continue to report the truth about the Schumer Shutdown. Use promo code POTUS47 to get 74% off your VIP membership.
