In his speech to the Marines, Vance emphasized the importance of a “renewed sense of patriotism” and “commitment to excellence” within the military, stressing the need for continued investment in the armed forces.
He also noted that every branch of the U.S. military has been meeting its recruiting goals since President Donald Trump reentered office.
“We’re going to invest in the Marine Corps and the entire United States military like we never have before,” Vance said to the crowd.
He went on to promise significant investments in both the Marine Corps and the broader U.S. military infrastructure, totaling over $1 trillion, aimed at enhancing the nation’s defense capabilities.
Vance’s speech underscored the importance of ensuring that Marines and all military personnel have the best equipment when they are called into service.
“We know from the long history of the United States of America that while the leading edge of American power is you all, it really matters what you guys have in your hands and what you guys have on your backs when you go to war,” Vance explained.
He further assured the Marines that any future military engagements would be met with the best equipment and resources available.
“So I promised you from the President of the United States, we are going to send you, if we have to send you to war, with the best equipment, the best ammunition, the best weapons. And we are going to empower you guys to win when you have to. That’s the purpose of the United States Marine Corps,” Vance added.
