Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, joined Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures” to discuss a noticeable political shift among young voters, who are increasingly showing support for President Donald Trump, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

During the segment, Kirk stated that the Democratic Party is losing its grip on a key voting bloc, citing frustration among the so-called “lockdown generation.”

Bartiromo opened the conversation by asking Kirk why more young Americans are standing behind Trump. “Do you think young people are with Trump because they were the most hurt by teachers during COVID?” she asked.

“That’s absolutely true,” Kirk responded. “It feels good that we have new leadership in this country.”

Kirk contrasted the tone of President Trump’s speeches with those given by former President Joe Biden, particularly in front of college audiences.

“When President Trump gave a speech, it was about optimism and positivity. When Joe Biden gave a commencement address, it was all about systemic racism and police brutality and how America has a terrible past. It was about oppression, and it was a very heavy, and sad, and negative speech.”

According to Kirk, that contrast is playing a significant role in reshaping young voter sentiment.

“We are seeing the base of the Democrat Party evaporate. Democrats are bleeding the core constituency.”

Kirk identified 18- to 22-year-olds as particularly disaffected by Democratic leadership.

“These are the lockdown generation. They had prom, graduation stolen from them. They had to wear masks unnecessarily. They were forced to get vaccines. They had many friends hurt themselves or kill themselves because of the lockdowns. They do not trust the experts,” Kirk said.

He also commented on Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s recent visibility and speculated about her political ambitions. Bartiromo asked, “It looks like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants to run for President with all this campaigning she’s been doing. Your thoughts?”

“I think America is now fatigued by the catastrophizing of American politics,” Kirk replied. “Everything that AOC believes is that we need urgent, multi-trillion-dollar government action because we are gonna be overwhelmed because the oceans are gonna take down Miami Beach.”

“The Democrat Party is constantly talking about an imminent apocalypse, and the American people are just done with that.”

Kirk’s comments come as polls and grassroots indicators suggest shifting sentiments among younger voters, especially those disillusioned by pandemic-era policies and perceived Democratic overreach.
