Members of the Republican Study Committee (RSC) discussed the latest headlines and made their picks for who will win The Masters during the latest “Right To The Point” podcast.
Before jumping into the golf talk, the legislators discussed the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark ruling that allowed the Trump administration to deport Venezuelan nationals suspected of being members of the Tren de Agua gang under the Alien Enemies Act (AEA) provided due process is followed.
“They’ve killed hundreds of thousands of the American people, for crying out loud. I mean, it’s unimaginable,” Republican Georgia Rep. Rick Allen said.
The group, which included Allen, Republican South Carolina Rep. William Timmons and Republican Georgia Rep. Mike Collins, also discussed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) cuts and the waste, fraud and abuse they have been targeting,
Rep. Collins said the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) had been a large proponent of waste before the Trump administration. (RELATED: HHS Employees Reportedly Offered $25,000 Buyout To Quit Their Jobs)
“I can look out my window and HHS Health and Human Service building is right behind me, and it gets dark here in the winter time, around 4:30 in the afternoon, and I can tell you, I’ve taken several pictures. You turn around, you look and the lights are on, and two floors, two complete floors in that building are empty,” Collins noted.

The trio then moved on to discussing The Masters golf tournament, which is held at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, a district which Timmons represents. The Congressman joked that he takes his golf very seriously compared to counterparts across the aisle.
“There’s no cheating. We have records. We’re not Democrats, so we’re not gonna cheat.” Timmons jested.
Allen also revealed that when a hurricane hit his Georgia district, Augusta National donated $5 million for relief efforts.
The trio had a unique format for predicting the tournament’s winner. Each picked five potential winners from the categories past champion, American golfer, international golfer, first time at the Masters and a wild card. While a bevy of pros were selected, Scottie Scheffler was a popular choice as Allen chose him for both American golfer and past champion.
This was the ninth episode of the RSC’s podcast.
The RSC, a Republican caucus, exists to “bring like-minded House members together to promote a strong, principled legislative agenda that will limit government, strengthen our national defense, boost America’s economy, preserve traditional values and balance our budget,” according to the group’s website.
