Political commentator Scott Jennings defended President Donald Trump’s record of brokering international peace agreements during a CNN panel discussion, pushing back against criticism from fellow panelists who downplayed the administration’s recent diplomatic achievements, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

Since returning to the White House, President Trump has facilitated multiple peace deals in various regions.

In August, the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev, signed a peace agreement at the White House, brokered by Trump, aimed at ending nearly four decades of conflict in the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

In May, Trump announced a “full and immediate ceasefire” between India and Pakistan following a period of heightened cross-border tensions — the most serious confrontation between the two nuclear-armed nations in decades.

In June, Trump confirmed a U.S.-brokered peace agreement between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, ending three decades of hostilities.

That same month, he intervened to de-escalate tensions between Serbia and Kosovo, whose relationship has been strained since Kosovo’s declaration of independence in 2008.

On June 13, conflict erupted between Israel and Iran after Israel carried out strikes on Iranian military and nuclear sites. Trump announced a ceasefire agreement on June 24.

In July, Cambodia and Thailand reached a ceasefire following several days of clashes over a border dispute, with Trump brokering the agreement.

Discussing the ongoing war in Ukraine, Jennings said President Trump’s approach is grounded in realism.

“This only ends with a negotiated settlement. Both parties are going to have to go home and feel like they got out of this with something that looks like a victory,” Jennings said, adding that public opinion in Ukraine shows growing fatigue with the war.

Jennings noted that NATO Secretary General statements also point toward the likelihood of concessions from both sides to achieve peace. “The President has solved seven conflicts this year,” Jennings said.

“I’m willing to give him some latitude to talk to Vladimir Putin and break the deadlock and try to move us toward a place where the killing comes to an end.”

When another panelist claimed Trump had not resolved seven conflicts, Jennings replied:

“What reality do you live in? He’s literally got these guys in the White House where they’re signing documents and shaking hands. Acknowledge the man is solving peace. It happens on almost a weekly basis.”
