In a move that raised more than a few eyebrows, the White House released a glowing memo this week touting the Biden-Harris administration as “one of the most successful in history.”

This proclamation comes on the heels of Kamala Harris’ decisive loss to President-elect Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, where Trump clinched a commanding 312 electoral votes to Harris’ 226 and a popular vote victory by over two million ballots.

President-elect Donald Trump dances on the stage at the Johnny Mercer Theater during his first campaign event in Savannah, Georgia, in September. He is set to take office with an inauguration ceremony to be held on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, at the U.S. Capitol building in Washington D.C.

As reported by Fox News, the memo paints a rosy picture of the administration, claiming credit for steering the nation through the COVID-19 pandemic and an allegedly struggling economy.

It boasts, “Under President Biden and Vice President Harris’ leadership, 16 million jobs have been created, and we’ve gotten women and people of color back in the labor force at record rates.”

Additionally, the document highlights 20 million new business applications and inflation “down to near pre-pandemic levels.”

Among other achievements, the memo touts legislation that supposedly “rebuilt our nation’s infrastructure,” “made the largest investment in climate action in history,” and spurred a “manufacturing renaissance.”

It even quotes unnamed “business leaders” calling the U.S. economy “among the best performing economies in decades.”

Former President Donald Trump is interviewed by U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024 at Macomb Community College in Warren.

For all the self-praise, the latest jobs and inflation data tell a different story. According to the Labor Department’s October jobs report, only 12,000 new jobs were created—starkly below the expected 120,000 and marking a four-year low.

While the unemployment rate held steady at 4.1%, inflation continues to erode Americans’ purchasing power.

The October inflation report reveals the consumer price index, which tracks the cost of everyday goods like food, gas, and rent, rose 2.6% over the previous year.

Despite claims of a “cooling trend,” many Americans are feeling the squeeze, with wages failing to keep pace with rising costs.

Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt didn’t mince words, calling the jobs report a “catastrophe” that lays bare how “Kamala Harris broke our economy.”

Vice President Kamala Harris gives remarks to a group of Republicans and Independents for Harris at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Oct. 11, 2024.

If the White House hoped its memo would rewrite history, the 2024 election results are an unequivocal rebuttal.

Americans delivered a resounding verdict against the Biden-Harris policies, opting instead for Trump’s promised economic revival and strong leadership. With the electoral landslide and a popular vote win, Trump now prepares to assume the presidency with a clear mandate.

While the outgoing administration clings to its narrative of “success,” the American people’s choice tells a far different story—a rejection of policies that left the economy faltering and families struggling.
