Former Republican Georiga Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was referred to the Secret Service after staffers believed she leaked President Donald Trump’s dinner plans to Code Pink, according to a Friday report.
Two members on Trump’s team are alleging that the relationship between Trump and Green grew so sour that the White House told the Secret Service Greene might have tipped off the reportedly Chinese Communist Party (CCP) backed Code Pink protesters about his surprise visit in fall 2025 to a Washington, D.C. restaurant, Joe’s Seafood, which she allegedly recommended, two sources on Trump’s team told Axios. The incident, marked by a chaotic clash between anti-war protesters and Trump, embarrassed the president and heightened White House worries about his security, according to the report.
The clash came just a year after he narrowly survived an assassination attempt, and is reportedly seen by Trump aides as a breaking point in his relationship with Greene, a former ally turned critic who officially resigned Jan. 5.
In response to the report, Greene wrote on X that the story was a lie, and she had been telling the truth about Trump and her efforts to release files related to Jeffrey Epstein.
This is exactly what I told this little WH tool that wrote this absurd dangerous LIE about me on behalf of the WH because they are mad at me for telling the truth about the President and forcing the release of the Epstein files. Now they are making up horrific lies about me!!… https://t.co/ab8MxGe87v

Trump’s Sept. 9 outing to Joe’s with Vice President JD Vance and several cabinet members was meant to showcase how his deployment of National Guard troops made D.C. streets safer, accoding to Axios.
Protesters from Code Pink reportedly got close to Trump’s table, chanting, “Free DC.! Free Palestine! Trump is the Hitler of our time!”
For weeks after the incident, Trump aides tried to figure out how the group knew about his unannounced dinner plans, which were only shared with a few people, and the media had not been informed, according to Axios. Trump eventually called for an investigation into the organization, saying, “they should be put in jail.”

His team met with Secret Service leaders to review the confrontation and his security, while Code Pink spokesperson Melissa Garriga dismissed claims that Greene had tipped off the group, saying to Axios, “That absolutely did not happen, to the point it is comical.”
White House officials did not provide Axios with specific evidence proving that Greene tipped off the protesters, but they shared the basis for their suspicions.
Officials claim Greene repeatedly called White House staffers on the day of the dinner to confirm that Trump would be going to Joe’s. Greene did not show up while Trump and other officials were there, which some aides allege was unusual.
It’s unclear whether Greene is being investigated by the Secret Service.
According to the White House aides, Greene maintains a friendly relationship with Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin. She and the group are united in their opposition to U.S. military assistance for Ukraine and Israel.
After Greene announced in November that she would resign from Congress mid-way through her third term, she met with Medea Benjamin and other Code Pink members. The two were later pictured together in a post on X on Dec. 10, in which Benjamin praised Greene as a “strong anti-war voice in Congress. A source familiar with the situation further reiterated to the Daily Caller that Benjamin appreciated Greene’s stance on not sending weapons to Israel, but doubled down on the idea that Greene’s friendship with Benjamin was not significant enough for the former congresswoman to have tipped the organization off.
“Marjorie does not communicate with Medea Benjamin. Like outside she doesn’t communicate with her. Medea would come into the office occasionally, and Marjorie would say hi, but it wasn’t like they weren’t best buds,” the source stated. “They’re not texting, they’re not calling. I can guarantee you that there’s no communication happening between them two. That’s not something that’s happening, because maybe White House staffers saw a stupid tweet and they took it and ran with it. It’s just blown out of proportion.”
In response to suggestions that Greene might have known about Trump’s schedule, the source emphasized that the White House is the only entity responsible for setting up the reservations. (RELATED: Paid Protestors Who Got Within Feet Of Trump Disrupt Scott Bessent’s Dinner)
“The White House sets up all of those reservations, they’re the only people who would have been able to tip it off. It would have been like a White House staffer or some crazy liberal who works at Joe’s who hates the president,” the source told the Caller.
In 2023, the House Committee on Natural Resources investigated Chinese influence on activist groups, specifically highlighting Code Pink. The committee noted a 2023 New York Times report alleging Code Pink receives funding from Neville Roy Singham, who has ties to the Chinese government.
The report stated that Singham “works closely with the Chinese government media machine” to advance the CCP’s agenda.
