White nationalist Nick Fuentes said he plans to campaign against Republican Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, declaring his intention during a slur-laced livestream in which he said preventing Ramaswamy from winning the governorship is his top political priority for the 2026 election cycle, as reported by Fox News.

Fuentes made the remarks during a Tuesday livestream, just days after Ramaswamy publicly criticized him during a speech at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest conference.

In his comments, Fuentes said he would travel to Ohio to oppose Ramaswamy’s campaign and stated that he did not care if a Democrat ultimately won the race instead.

“I think I’m going to go to Ohio, and the word that we are looking for is denial. We have to deny Vivek Ramaswamy the governorship. This is the only race I care about in ‘26. It’s the only one I care about,” Fuentes said.

During the same broadcast, Fuentes used a slur to describe Ramaswamy.

Ramaswamy addressed Fuentes directly during his remarks at AmericaFest, a high-profile conservative conference hosted by Turning Point USA.

Speaking to the audience, Ramaswamy laid out his view of American identity and the future direction of the conservative movement.

“What does it mean to be an American in the year 2026? It means we believe in those ideals of 1776,” Ramaswamy said. “It means we believe in merit, that the best person gets the job regardless of their skin color.”

He continued, “It means we believe in free speech and open debate. Even for those who disagree with us, from Nick Fuentes to Jimmy Kimmel, you get to speak your mind in the open without the government censoring you.”

Ramaswamy then drew a clear line regarding rhetoric he said has no place in conservatism.

“If you believe in normalizing hatred toward any ethnic group, toward Whites, toward Blacks, toward Hispanics, toward Jews, toward Indians, you have no place in the future of the conservative movement, period,” he said.

“And I will not apologize for that. I will not hedge when I say it.”

Ramaswamy further referenced Fuentes by name while condemning statements attributed to him online.

“If you believe, and you will forgive me for giving you an exact quote from our online commentator, Nick Fuentes. If you believe that Hitler was pretty f**king cool, you have no place in the future of the conservative movement,” Ramaswamy said.

“You can debate foreign aid, Israel, all you want. That’s fine. That’s fair. But you have no place with that level of hatred.”

Asked for comment about Fuentes’ statements, a spokesperson for Ramaswamy’s campaign told Fox News Digital on Wednesday, “We’re focused on the issues that matter most to Ohioans, not fringe voices that prefer a far-left Democrat to the Trump-endorsed conservative.”

Ramaswamy formally announced his candidacy for governor of Ohio in late February. The seat will be open in 2026, as current Republican Gov. Mike DeWine is term-limited and is scheduled to leave office in January 2027.
