Who Wants to See a P***s in a Women’s Locker Room, Asks …

Has common sense even begun trickling into M-SNOW? Well, not exactly, since Joy Reid got the boot before MSNBC became a deadname in media outlets. One has to wonder what the Ecru Crew at M-SNOW would have to say about this eruption of actual human truth from their former colleague … or if they’ll even bother to mention it. 

Riley Gaines certainly notices, however, that one of the leading voices in the progressive media world suddenly has a lot of sympathy with women who don’t want naked men in their locker rooms. Reid reacted to a story that went viral earlier this month involving a black woman who erupted in outrage when a man undressed in the women’s locker room in front of her at a Gold’s Gym location in California. The gym booted the woman out rather than the man, and while Reid tries to defend “trans” rights, she also backed the woman for her outrage:

Fox News also noticed Reid’s sudden transition to human biology:

During a conversation on her “Reid This Reid That” podcast, Reid said that seeing male genitalia in a women’s locker room would “freak” her out.

“I’m alarmed enough when I see a woman with her dangling boobies. If I saw a penis in the ladies’ locker room, I would freak out too,” the ex-MSNBC (now known as MS NOW) anchor told co-host Jacque Reid. …

Reid, who has criticized conservatives for proposing policies to keep transgender women out of female locker rooms and women’s sports, told her co-host she would have gone to management in that situation.

“What it’s saying is if I turn around, and I see a pee pee – a penis in front of me, inside of the room, I would probably go to management and say, ‘Wait a minute. Why is there somebody — a naked man — in this room?'”

Reid went on to acknowledge that this is a “safety” and “privacy” issue, but also a matter of choice. Can women choose not to be exposed in front of males, and choose not to have males expose themselves to women without their consent?

“So, I can see why she would have gone and reported to management ‘there’s a man naked in the…’ Now, if they clarified, and they said, ‘Well, trans da da da,’ OK, but I think they should take her concerns also seriously. Because if she’s uncomfortable, does she not have the right to be at least uncomfortable with the situation?”

Exactly. These are precisely the reasons why we have organized these kinds of spaces on the basis of biology rather than feelings. The default relies on objective science and the American tradition of “rights” (in this case, more accurately, privilege) extending only as far as they intrude on the natural rights of others. Women and men have natural rights to privacy and personal safety. Using shared locker rooms requires compromise to a degree, but not to include forced sexualized encounters. And safety also includes women not being forced into athletic competition with men where they run much higher risks of injury.

Reid’s co-host Jacque Reid concurs, but then claims to also support “transgender rights.” That term is an oxymoron. Transgenders do not have rights apart from everyone else’s; what they want are privileges, and those privileges conflict with the natural rights of everyone else. That’s true of forced pronoun usage, it’s true of intrusions into athletic competitions, and it’s true of intrusions into women’s locker rooms as well. 

Common sense clearly has a long road to travel with the Reids, but at least they have begun the journey. Let’s see if the Ecru Crew at M-SNOW even steps a single foot on it.
