Whoopi Goldberg discussed her personal life and views on relationships during a recent episode of “The View,” where the longtime co-host openly described her approach to being single and her lack of interest in traditional commitments, as reported by Page Six.
The conversation aired on Wednesday and began with Goldberg referencing an article published in Cosmopolitan.
“A woman wrote an article in Cosmopolitan, admitting that she fantasizes about being single even though she’s in a very happy long-term relationship,” Goldberg said during the segment.

Here’s What They’re Not Telling You About Your Retirement
“She writes that sometimes, she finds herself missing the days of casual flings and bar-hopping,” Goldberg added, prompting laughter from the studio audience.
Goldberg then turned to her fellow panelists for their reactions. Co-host Joy Behar responded by asking, “Do you miss those days?”

Goldberg replied directly, stating, “I am single,” before elaborating on her lifestyle.
“Yeah, I bar hop, I go hang! And I do hit and runs when I need it.”
She continued by explaining that her current situation allows her to avoid the responsibilities tied to long-term relationships. “I am not married to anybody, I don’t have responsibility,” Goldberg said.
During the discussion, Goldberg pointed out that her co-hosts — Behar, Sara Eisen, Sara Haines, and Ana Navarro — all have commitments in their personal lives.
“Okay, so you four have responsibilities,” she said. “And the question is, do you ever miss the single life?”
Haines responded that while she does sometimes miss aspects of being single, it is not related to nightlife. Instead, she said she misses having uninterrupted personal time.
“A binge where I can sit and eat ice cream, and no one’s watching, and watch whatever I damn want,” Haines said.
“I love being the center of my own world,” she added.
