Why Are We Bankrolling Illegals While Americans Are Living Paycheck to Paycheck?: Jillian Michaels [WATCH]

Fitness entrepreneur and commentator Jillian Michaels sharply criticized the U.S. tax system and immigration policies, arguing that American workers are being financially squeezed while their tax dollars are redirected to support illegal immigration and foreign nationals.

Michaels described what she said is the daily reality for millions of Americans who work long hours only to see a significant portion of their income taken in taxes, with little tangible benefit in return.

“Look at the day of the average American worker. They’re up before dawn, kids to school, traffic, 10 to 12 hours of work, and then payday comes, and a third of their paycheck disappears before it even hits the bank,” Michaels said.

“And what do they get for it? Not safer streets, not fixed roads, not better schools.”

Warning: Account balances and purchasing power no longer tell the same story. Know in 2 minutes if your retirement is working for you.

She pointed specifically to states such as California, where she said tax dollars collected from working Americans are redistributed to illegal aliens while many citizens struggle to stay financially afloat.

“In states like California, their tax dollars are redistributed to people who broke the law to get here while they themselves live paycheck to paycheck, barely staying afloat. They’re drowning,” Michaels said.

Michaels highlighted rising costs facing American families, including health care, inflation, and housing, while contrasting those struggles with government-funded benefits provided to illegal immigrants.

“Exploding health insurance premiums while the State offers free, full scope MediCal to undocumented immigrants, zero deductibles, zero co pays, world class care paid for by them while they’re struggling to afford groceries because inflation has crushed the family budget,” she said. “State funded programs expand so that foreign nationals eat free.”

She also criticized housing policies she said further disadvantage American workers.

“Home Ownership feels terminally out of reach, and yet Sacramento pushes proposals for taxpayer funded interest free down payment assistance for undocumented immigrants,” Michaels said.

Michaels argued that frustration among Americans is justified, particularly when public discussions focus on selective figures about tax contributions by illegal immigrants without addressing overall costs.

“So yeah, people are angry, and they have every reason to be, but then comes the line that you’re supposed to stop thinking at,” she said.

“I mean, I’ve heard this a million times from my friends who are liberal, but undocumented immigrants pay 96 billion in taxes.”

She said that figure does not reflect the full financial impact.

“And yeah, it sounds like a lot until you hear the number they never say out loud,” Michaels said.

“The Federation for American immigration reform found that once you account for schools, health care, welfare and the justice system, the net cost of illegal immigration to the American taxpayer exceeds 150 billion every single year.”

Michaels also cited federal housing data to argue that immigration has intensified competition in the housing market.

“And housing, a HUD report confirms that two thirds of all growth in rental housing demand nationwide has been driven by the surge in foreign born populations,” she said.

“So struggling Americans aren’t just competing for jobs, they’re subsidizing the competition that’s pricing them out of their own neighborhoods.”

She concluded by pointing to immigration limits as a necessary safeguard for public infrastructure.

“All of the reasons I just mentioned are why legal immigration has quotas so the infrastructure is not overwhelmed,” Michaels said.
