A dramatic home surveillance video captured a violent crash late last month in southern Nevada, showing a speeding vehicle smashing through a backyard wall, going airborne, and ejecting its driver into a private swimming pool, as reported by the New York Post.
The incident occurred late on December 15 in Laughlin, according to FOX 5 Las Vegas.
Police and a crash report reviewed by the outlet indicate the driver was allegedly speeding moments before failing to stop and crashing into and through a concrete wall separating a roadway from a residential backyard.
The video footage shows the white vehicle striking the wall at high speed and launching into the air in the darkness.
After clearing the wall, the car rotates before slamming into the roof of a backyard pool house and then landing near the edge of the swimming pool.
The impact was severe enough that the driver was ejected from the vehicle and thrown directly into the pool. Surveillance footage shows the driver floundering in the water following the crash.
Homeowner Cletis Reed told FOX 5 he initially believed the noise came from the street.

“I figured something happened in the street, and I came out to see my entire backyard destroyed,” Reed said.
“Everything was just blown up. The patio is on the ground, the lady is floating in my pool.”
Reed said the sound of the crash was unmistakable.
He described it as sounding “like a freight train” before he rushed outside and discovered the destruction.
Reed also said he narrowly avoided being injured or killed. He explained that he had been moments away from entering his hot tub, which was located near the wall that collapsed during the crash.
“I popped the cover on and thought I needed to tell my wife something,” Reed said.
“By the grace of God, I’m here. If I was standing there, I would have been dead.”
According to Reed, the driver landed in the shallow end of the pool, which he estimated is about waist-deep and surrounded by concrete and block walls.
“She was blessed, and I was blessed,” Reed said.
Reed and others at the scene pulled the driver out of the pool. He told FOX 5 that she was conscious but appeared disoriented and was moaning.

Approximately 15 minutes later, Reed said, the driver was standing and being interviewed by police officers.
The vehicle came to rest in such a difficult position in the backyard that a tow truck was unable to remove it normally. A crane was ultimately required to lift the vehicle out of the property.
Reed said he had invested his retirement savings into building his backyard, including what he described as a resort-style pool.
The crash destroyed the patio area and contaminated the 25,000-gallon pool with motor oil. Reed estimated repairs could approach $300,000 and said the pool may need to be completely drained.
The driver was transported to a hospital in Arizona for treatment. Her condition has not been released.
