The high-stakes contest between Casey and Republican challenger Dave McCormick has reached a fever pitch, with McCormick currently leading by about 26,000 votes. However, Pennsylvania’s automatic recount laws, triggered when margins fall under one percentage point, have extended the process, keeping the state — and the nation — on edge.

The Republican National Committee has already filed multiple lawsuits to block the counting of these ballots.
