Internal House Memo Shreds Democrats’ Trump-Epstein Narrative

The Republican majority on the House Oversight Committee is escalating its confrontation with Democratic members over what it says is a false narrative involving President Donald Trump and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Republican committee staff circulated a new talking points memo to GOP lawmakers Tuesday morning that challenges recent disclosures by Oversight Democrats related to Epstein.

The memo accuses Democrats of selectively releasing information in a way Republicans say is intended to mislead the public and portray President Trump as connected to Epstein’s criminal conduct.

The memo, obtained by Fox News Digital, states that Democrats on the committee have engaged in what Republicans describe as repeated misconduct during the committee’s review of the federal government’s handling of the Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell criminal investigations.

“Throughout the Oversight Committee’s review of the federal government’s handling of the Epstein and Maxwell criminal investigations, Democrats have demonstrated a sustained pattern of misconduct — misrepresenting witness testimony, selectively leaking cherry-picked documents, and manipulating emails and images — to fabricate yet another politically motivated hoax targeting President Trump,” the memo said.

“As a result, nothing Democrats post or leak on this matter can be taken at face value.”

Republicans also criticized what the memo described as the role of major media organizations in amplifying Democratic claims.

The document urges Oversight Republicans to challenge “Legacy Media,” which it says “uncritically amplified these falsehoods, acting as a willing conduit rather than performing basic due diligence.”

“This reckless combination of partisan distortion and media malpractice undermines the Committee’s work, misleads the public, and distracts from the serious responsibility of ensuring accountability, transparency, and justice for the American people,” the memo said.

The dispute marks a sharp shift from what Republicans described as an initially bipartisan investigation into Epstein-related matters.

According to the memo, cooperation between the parties deteriorated as Democrats began releasing selected materials tied to Epstein’s estate.

Democrats, for their part, have argued that Republicans are using the committee’s investigation to protect President Trump.

Republicans have countered that Democrats are distorting evidence to advance a false claim that Trump was involved in Epstein’s crimes.

Trump and Epstein were known to have socialized decades ago, but their relationship ended in the early 2000s, before public allegations of sexual abuse involving minors became widely known.

The president has denied any involvement in Epstein’s crimes and has not been implicated in them.

Among the materials cited by Republicans are three emails sent to the Oversight Committee by Epstein’s estate that Democrats released publicly.

Republicans said the emails were presented in a way that suggested Trump “knew about” Epstein’s illicit activities.

One of the emails refers to Trump as “that dog that hasn’t barked.”

Republicans stated that the three emails were released from a larger collection of approximately 20,000 pages of documents provided to the committee.

The memo also addresses a dispute involving document redactions.

According to Republicans, when CNN questioned redactions in the released materials, Democratic committee members claimed Republicans were responsible.

“When CNN questioned the redactions, Democrat Committee members falsely claimed Republicans were responsible. After Republicans released more than 20,000 pages, Democrats then claimed this transparency was intended to ‘disorient’ and ‘distract’ from their fabricated narrative,” the memo said.

Republicans further accused Democrats of manipulating photographic evidence released from Epstein’s estate.

The memo states that Democrats censored the faces of adult women in photographs in order to portray the images in a misleading way.

In one example cited, Republicans said a censored image “shows President Trump standing next to adult Hawaiian Tropic women models.”

Democrats redacted an already public image of Trump with models at an event to suggest they were underaged Epstein victims.

Yesterday, MSDNC’s “legal reporter” suggested that the women in the Trump photo are “either minors and/or survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell”.

It’s now been revealed that the women were all adult Hawaiian Tropic models at a Mar-a-Lago event.

Democrats have not always referenced Trump directly in their public releases, but Republicans noted that Trump has appeared repeatedly in the emails and photographs Democrats have highlighted.

Rep. Robert Garcia, D-Calif., the ranking Democrat on the committee, has defended the releases.

In a statement accompanying one of the disclosures, Garcia said, “It is time to end this White House cover-up and bring justice to the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his powerful friends.”

“These disturbing photos raise even more questions about Epstein and his relationships with some of the most powerful men in the world. We will not rest until the American people get the truth. The Department of Justice must release all the files, NOW.”

Separately, the Trump administration is facing a Dec. 19 deadline to release files related to Epstein following a near-unanimous vote in the House and a unanimous vote in the Senate.
