President Donald Trump took aim at the national media once again on Monday during remarks at Mar-a-Lago, offering reporters lunch while openly predicting it would not change how they cover him, as reported by the Gateway Pundit.

The exchange took place as reporters gathered ahead of Trump’s meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, marking the pair’s sixth meeting since Trump returned to office in January.

While Trump was preparing to have a private lunch with Netanyahu, he addressed the press corps assembled outside.

“If you’d like, you can come up and have lunch like you did yesterday,” Trump told reporters. “Would you like that or not? You want that?” He then added that “some of them think it’s terrible, it’s a bribe.”

“A bribe for $25? I don’t know,” Trump said. “If you’d like, you can go, and if you don’t, you can stand in the driveway and melt, all right?”

The remarks drew audible laughter from reporters, several of whom could be heard enthusiastically accepting the offer.

Trump then turned his attention to White House aide Margo Martin, praising her work while continuing his criticism of the press.

“But if you want— will you work on that, Margo? Is Margo doing a good job? She’s a star. She’s too nice. Her only problem, she’s too nice to you, and you’re not nice to us, but that’s okay,” Trump said.

“Margo, take them up and have a beautiful lunch, and we’ll see you later.”

The comments followed a similar exchange one day earlier during Trump’s meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

On Sunday, Trump also joked with reporters about whether food constituted a bribe, asking the press, “Would you like to have some food? Or do you consider that a bribe?”

After directing staff to escort reporters out and provide them with lunch, Trump added that the gesture would not change coverage.

“That should guarantee good stories. But it won’t. They’ll go out of their way to make a point,” he said at the time.

Trump’s remarks continued a long-running pattern of openly confrontational and sarcastic exchanges with the press, particularly outlets he has repeatedly criticized as biased.

The moments unfolded as the president hosted multiple foreign leaders at Mar-a-Lago, using informal remarks to contrast his hospitality with what he describes as persistent negative coverage.

Neither the White House nor visiting foreign delegations indicated that the exchanges disrupted the scheduled diplomatic meetings. The Netanyahu meeting proceeded as planned following the press interaction.
