The family of Lance Twiggs has spoken publicly for the first time since the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, providing new details about Twiggs’ whereabouts and his cooperation with law enforcement following the high-profile killing, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot on September 10, 2025, during an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.

The shooting prompted a large-scale investigation involving local authorities and federal law enforcement. Police later arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson in connection with the killing.

Robinson was charged with seven felony counts, including aggravated murder, which carries the possibility of capital punishment under Utah law.

Investigators have alleged that Robinson was responsible for carrying out the fatal shooting at the campus event.

It was later disclosed by authorities that Robinson had been living with his partner, Lance “Luna” Twiggs, a male-to-female transgender individual.

According to investigators, text messages exchanged between Robinson and Twiggs after the shooting were used by the Federal Bureau of Investigation to help establish Robinson as the suspect in the case.

Twiggs has not been charged with any crime. However, his absence from public view following Robinson’s arrest led to widespread speculation about his status and involvement.

Utah authorities previously released portions of the text exchange between Robinson and Twiggs that were sent shortly after Kirk’s assassination.

Senior NewsNation correspondent Brian Entin interviewed a relative of Twiggs, who said the family had remained silent on the advice of legal counsel and law enforcement.

According to the relative, Twiggs was under FBI protection for the first several weeks after the assassination.

The family member told Entin that Twiggs temporarily left Utah but has since returned and is now living with family members in St. George, Utah.

The relative said Twiggs is cooperating with law enforcement authorities as the case continues.

During the interview, Entin asked the family member whether she believed Robinson was responsible for Kirk’s killing. She responded, “100%. They have the right guy.”

Law enforcement officials have not disputed that assessment publicly. Investigators have said Robinson’s digital communications, movements, and alleged actions following the shooting were central to the case against him.

Court records show Robinson faces the following charges:

– Count 1: Aggravated murder (capital offense)
– Count 2: Felony reckless discharge of a firearm causing bodily injury
– Count 3: Felony obstruction of justice for hiding the firearm
– Count 4: Felony obstruction of justice for discarding the clothing worn during the shooting
– Count 5: Witness tampering for asking a roommate to delete incriminating messages
– Count 6: Witness tampering for demanding his transgender roommate remain silent and not speak to police
– Count 7: Commission of a violent offense in the presence of a child

Authorities have stated that the investigation remains active as prosecutors prepare for court proceedings. Robinson remains in custody as the case moves forward through the Utah legal system.

Turning Point USA has continued to honor Kirk’s legacy in the months following his death, while security at conservative events nationwide has remained a focus amid concerns raised by the assassination.
