The White House has pushed back against criticism from Minnesota leaders, including Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, accusing them of fostering an environment that puts federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers at risk amid ongoing tensions in the state’s largest city.
On the Faulkner Focus, Fox News host Harris Faulkner relayed a statement from the administration emphasizing ICE’s role in detaining dangerous criminals while condemning remarks from local officials.
“The White House has now responded. Tim Walz, Jacob Frey and Democrat leaders in Minnesota have done nothing but turn up the temperature, smear heroic ICE officers and incite violence against them all in the defense of criminal illegal aliens in Minnesota,” Faulkner said.
“ICE has arrested rapists, drug traffickers, domestic abusers and more, despite the Democratic opposition, the Trump administration will protect the American people and enforce the law without apology.”
The comments come amid ongoing unrest in Minneapolis following multiple shootings involving ICE officers. Earlier this month, an ICE agent fatally shot a woman, Renee Nicole Good, during a federal enforcement operation, an episode that triggered large protests and clashes between law enforcement and demonstrators.
A subsequent encounter involving an ICE officer shooting a Venezuelan national left the city on edge and drew national attention as violent protests unfolded.

On the show, Clay Travis agreed with the White House’s assessment and drew parallels to previous periods of anti-law enforcement sentiment in urban areas.
“They’re 100% right,” Travis said.
“And Harris, you remember this in 2020 when we demonized police? What happened? Murder skyrocketed across the entire country, and we didn’t let good law enforcement officers do their job.”
Travis argued that by criticizing federal agents like ICE and discouraging enforcement activity, local leaders could be unintentionally encouraging violence against law enforcement and the broader community.
“Now, Minnesota Frey, Walz, they are deciding to demonize ICE officers,” Travis said. “
They’re making them targets, and they are going to increase the overall level of violence in this country.”
He specifically urged President Donald Trump to take decisive action, pointing to federal intervention in Los Angeles in the past as an effective example.
“I think President Trump has to step up aggressively say we’re not going to do this,” Travis said.
“Remember what happened in LA? He sent in all the forces and everything stopped in LA. We got to do it in Minneapolis too. It’s out of control.”
