Fox News host Greg Gutfeld criticized climate change rhetoric from the political left, arguing that climate alarmism has been driven more by hypocrisy, inaccurate predictions, and personal profit than by genuine concern for the environment.

Gutfeld made the remarks while addressing what he described as double standards among prominent climate activists and Democratic leaders, contrasting their public warnings with their personal lifestyles.

“Llook we aren’t against people buying beach homes, just people who condemn us for wanting the same thing,” Gutfeld said.

“It’s not the house, it’s the left’s climate alarmist fantasy.”

He pointed to former Vice President Al Gore as an example, referencing Gore’s past warnings about climate catastrophe.

“Remember Al Gore’s documentary An Inconvenient Truth?” Gutfeld said.

“Who knew that truth was him owning a house in Tennessee with a carbon footprint bigger than all my child labor asbestos factories combined. Kids really work hard.”

Gutfeld argued that climate projections used to justify sweeping policy changes have repeatedly failed to materialize as predicted.

He cited data trends he said contradict long-standing narratives about worsening natural disasters.

“Meanwhile, their climate models were always off base,” he said.

“Satellites showed the amount of land scorched by fires declined this century, with 2025 on track for the lowest in two decades.”

He also referenced long-term storm and mortality data.

“Hurricane data has declined over the past century, as climate related deaths have dropped 98% over the same period,” Gutfeld said.

Despite those trends, Gutfeld said activists continue to present climate science as settled and unquestionable.

“But for the left, the science was settled,” he said.

“They peddled a lie. They just moved the timelines, and one hot summer was used as proof to validate their delusions.”

Gutfeld mocked what he described as selective interpretations of extreme weather events.

“Instead of God’s way of saying, have more wet t shirt contests,” he said.

“They blamed the wildfires on climate change, not the guy who allegedly started the fire with a lighter.”

He also criticized the rhetoric of high-profile climate activists.

“And what of those unstable freaks like Greta, they went from save the earth to blame the Jews,” Gutfeld said.

According to Gutfeld, public panic around climate issues has faded as predictions failed to materialize, while political leaders continued to live comfortably.

“All that panic stopped when the stats became more unbelievable,” he said.

“And yet the hypocrite Dems lived it up, and few flew private while you got paper straws that go limp faster than Don Lemon ordering lunch at Hooters.”

Gutfeld said the disconnect revealed the true motivation behind climate activism.

“Yeah, as it turns out, all those existential crisis speeches weren’t about saving humanity,” he said.

“It was about making bank until they could own a mansion on the coast.”

He concluded by arguing that while dire warnings have come and gone, the political movement behind them has simply shifted focus.

“They profited while the rest of us suffered through their phony apocalyptic rhetoric,” Gutfeld said.

“But it’s like everything they push on us. None of this stuff ever really affects the decisions they make.”

“The world didn’t end,” he added, “but neither did their grift. It just moved on to something else.”
