Two drivers were arrested after a suspected road rage incident ended with both vehicles crashing into a Brooklyn building, injuring an innocent pedestrian and causing extensive damage to a yoga studio that was scheduled to open next month, as reported by The New York Post.

The collision occurred at approximately 11:15 p.m. Tuesday along Fulton Street in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, according to the New York Police Department.

Video from the scene shows a 20-year-old man walking along the sidewalk wearing a blue tracksuit moments before two vehicles—a black Cadillac and a BMW—came speeding through an intersection after allegedly running a red light.

The pedestrian narrowly avoided being struck as both vehicles entered the frame at high speed. Seconds later, the BMW crashed into the front of a commercial building, heavily damaging an under-construction yoga studio.

Police said the pedestrian suffered injuries during the incident despite avoiding a direct impact.

Authorities also said the drivers of both vehicles were injured.

The Cadillac driver was identified as 56-year-old Anthony Hayes of Binghamton, New York. The BMW driver was identified as 43-year-old Robert Walker of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.

Emergency crews transported Hayes, Walker, and the injured pedestrian to Kings County Hospital. Police said all three were listed in stable condition.

Investigators believe the collision stemmed from a suspected road rage encounter between the two drivers before the crash.

Following the investigation, both men were arrested.

According to police, Hayes was charged with vehicular assault, driving under the influence, resisting arrest, reckless endangerment, aggravated driving while intoxicated, and reckless driving.

Walker was charged with vehicular assault, criminal mischief, and failing to stop at a red light.

The crash caused significant structural damage to the building housing the second location of Noir Yoga.

The studio had been undergoing final preparations ahead of its planned Aug. 1 grand opening, but owner Mason Mason told News12 the opening has now been postponed because of the damage.

“It’s graphic,” Mason said. “It’s just jarring and an immense amount of damage. I’m like, how could something like this happen?”

Photographs from the scene showed debris scattered across the sidewalk and heavy damage to the storefront after the BMW crashed into the structure.

The Fire Department of New York said National Grid responded to the location to shut off the building’s gas service as a safety precaution following the collision.

The city’s Department of Buildings was also notified to inspect the damaged structure.

Authorities have not announced what, if any, additional structural repairs will be required before the business can reopen construction and resume preparations for its delayed launch.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
