A Minnesota woman convicted in one of the largest welfare fraud schemes in state history is alleging that Gov. Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison were aware of widespread fraud long before federal prosecutors intervened, adding new scrutiny to state leadership already facing a Department of Justice investigation.

Aimee Bock, the former head of the nonprofit Feeding Our Future, made the allegations during a jailhouse interview with Fox News from Sherburne County Jail in Minnesota.

Bock has been convicted of welfare fraud tied to the misuse of federal funds intended for child nutrition programs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Bock, state officials continued to approve and pay claims connected to the program even after concerns were raised internally about potential fraud.

She claimed that Minnesota agencies responsible for overseeing the program failed to act despite repeated warnings.

Bock alleged that the state approved program sponsors and was responsible for monitoring claims, but officials did not investigate or stop suspicious activity after she brought concerns to their attention. She asserted that responsibility for oversight rested with state authorities, not just nonprofit administrators.

“I honestly believe Keith Ellison and Gov. Walz need to be held accountable. There needs to be an investigation done. If they weren’t aware, that’s concerning,” Bock told Fox News.

Bock further claimed that senior state offices had knowledge of the situation based on their own statements about cooperation with federal authorities.

“I have to believe that the governor’s office and Keith Ellison’s office were aware of this. They’ve said they were involved in helping the FBI. They’ve said they were made aware, but apparently I’m scary, so they couldn’t do anything,” she said.

Feeding Our Future was at the center of a massive fraud case involving the federal child nutrition program, which provided funding intended to ensure meals for children during pandemic-related school closures.

Federal prosecutors have said millions of dollars were siphoned off through false claims, shell companies, and fabricated meal counts.

The case has become one of the most significant fraud prosecutions in Minnesota history, drawing attention to how state agencies oversaw the distribution of federal funds and how warnings were handled as concerns mounted.

Federal indictments and convictions stemming from the investigation have highlighted breakdowns in oversight and enforcement.

Bock’s allegations come as Gov. Walz and Attorney General Ellison face heightened scrutiny due to an ongoing Department of Justice investigation related to the handling of the program and the state’s response to warning signs.

Details of the DOJ inquiry have not been fully disclosed, but the probe has intensified focus on decision-making within state government during the period when fraudulent claims were being paid.

Ellison’s office responded forcefully to Bock’s claims, rejecting her allegations and questioning her credibility.

A spokesperson for the attorney general cited her conviction and sentence as evidence that her statements should not be trusted.

“She is a liar, fraudster, and manipulator of the highest order who has never acknowledged or accepted her guilt.

Now, she’s on a media tour to deflect her guilt onto others instead of finally taking responsibility for the fraud scheme she ran,” the spokesperson said.

State officials have previously maintained that Minnesota agencies acted appropriately once credible evidence of fraud was identified and that cooperation with federal authorities began as concerns escalated.

Ellison and Walz have both pointed to their offices’ involvement with federal investigators as proof that they did not ignore or conceal wrongdoing.

Bock, however, contends that oversight failures occurred well before federal intervention and that warnings raised within the system were dismissed or left unaddressed.

Her claims raise questions about how complaints were handled and whether existing safeguards were sufficient to prevent the misuse of public funds.

The Feeding Our Future scandal has already prompted legislative hearings, policy reviews, and calls for reforms aimed at preventing similar abuses in the future.

Lawmakers have debated changes to oversight structures and accountability mechanisms for nonprofits receiving large amounts of public funding.

As the DOJ investigation continues, Bock’s allegations add another layer to an already complex case that has had significant political and legal ramifications in Minnesota.
