President Donald Trump wasted no time responding to the latest wave of senseless vandalism in Washington.

He announced Saturday that the United States Park Police had made multiple arrests after vandals damaged the newly renovated Reflecting Pool at the Lincoln Memorial, one of the crown jewels of his effort to restore the nation’s capital to greatness.

Trump did not mince words in his Truth Social post, calling the acts “very serious crimes” and demanding accountability.

“Who would do such a thing?” he wrote.

Here’s What They’re Not Telling You About Your Retirement

“Years in jail! Work will begin immediately on its repair.”

His message carried the same tone he brought to his previous law-and-order campaigns, resonating with Americans tired of seeing monuments defaced while bureaucrats shrug.

The president highlighted that, under his administration, crews had already “cleaned, renovated, and beautified over 45 Monuments and Memorials, 28 Statues, and 22 Fountains in Washington, DC.”

Yet while major progress had been made, he said “real problems with Vandalism” at the Reflecting Pool had recently surfaced.

According to Trump, the culprits damaged the grass and deliberately targeted the freshly installed interior surface.

Trump detailed the attack, writing, “Just like three days ago, they destroyed the grass outside of the Pool, they’ve also done everything possible to hurt the inside surface that was just installed.”

He compared the act to previous chemical damage incidents on the National Mall, making clear these were not pranks or accidents but deliberate attempts to destroy public property.

He added that the Reflecting Pool’s algae problem, which plagued it for years, was “75 percent gone.”

The rest would be fixed soon, with the vandalized section described as “a small area of damage” that would be repaired early next week.

The investigation remains ongoing, with law enforcement pursuing everyone involved.

Reporter Emily Miller shared video from the scene showing officers arresting a man allegedly caught in the act.

In one clip, the suspect appears to have jumped into the Reflecting Pool and ripped up the blue protective sealant that lines the bottom.

Another arrest followed after a man reportedly grabbed a hose from a National Park Service worker.

It remains unclear whether the two incidents involved the same suspect.

The Reflecting Pool has been at the center of Trump’s Washington beautification push. Back in March, he announced alongside Interior Secretary Doug Burgum that his team was addressing what he called the “absolutely filthy Reflecting Pool.”

That work, he noted, should have been done long before under Joe Biden’s administration, which largely ignored the once grand monument’s deterioration.

Secretary Burgum explained that the project had been crucial.

The Reflecting Pool had been leaking about 45,000 gallons of water every day, wasting taxpayer dollars and eroding infrastructure.

Crews drained the pool, sandblasted the surfaces, repaired the plumbing, and restored the glow of the monument.

Trump personally selected an “American flag blue” base color to symbolize pride in the nation’s heritage.

For many Americans visiting the National Mall, the Reflecting Pool is more than a patch of water.

It represents the mirror of American history, stretching in front of the Lincoln Memorial, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous “I Have a Dream” speech.

Trump’s effort to restore it was meant to honor that legacy, not allow it to crumble or be vandalized by what seem to be politically motivated agitators.

The brazenness of the attack sparked outrage among Trump supporters and many others who value law enforcement and respect for public landmarks.

WATCH:

Conservative commentators noted how quick the left is to dismiss such destruction as “free expression” whenever it fits their narrative, yet the damage costs real taxpayers real money to fix.

The contrast between Trump’s proactive leadership and the apathy shown during the Biden years could not be clearer.

While Trump’s team moved fast to clean the capital and protect its landmarks, the current crop of Washington bureaucrats appear more focused on pandering to activists than on preserving national treasures.

Law and order have long been central to Trump’s platform. His reaction to the Reflecting Pool vandalism reminded supporters why.

He believes in preserving history, safeguarding monuments, and ensuring those who deface them face real justice.

For many Americans longing for respect, discipline, and pride in the country again, his simple statement summed it up perfectly: “Years in jail!”

As repairs begin on the iconic site, Trump has shown that he is not slowing down his effort to rehabilitate the dignity of the nation’s capital.

For the countless families, veterans, and tourists who visit Washington to remember what America stands for, his commitment to restoration is not just a project of maintenance, but a reflection of patriotism itself.
