Gunfire Erupts Outside US Consulate In Toronto, Police Investigating

Police in Toronto, Canada, are investigating after someone opened fire at the U.S. Consulate just before 5:30 a.m Tuesday.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired at Queen Street West and University Avenue in the heart of the downtown core. Authorities issued a message on X, noting someone “discharged a firearm at the American Consulate.” Toronto Police Operations confirmed “evidence of a firearm discharge has been located,” and reported that no injuries were reported.

Officials have not released any information about a suspect or motive.

Southbound lanes on University Avenue from Armoury Street remains cordoned off as the investigation continues.

Police appealed to the public to report any information they may have in relation to this incident.

There are several cameras surrounding the perimeter of the consulate.
