The first images of the planned Donald J. Trump Presidential Library in Miami were released late Monday, revealing a long-awaited effort to preserve and teach the legacy of the 45th and 47th chief executive of the United States.

Eric Trump, the executive vice president of the Trump Organization, posted a 100-second video to X revealing the concept design of the planned presidential library honoring his father. The video guided viewers through various spaces envisioned to tell the story of Trump’s path to and leadership in the White House. The Florida-based international architecture and engineering firm Bermello Ajamil & Partners Inc. is credited with the “landmark” design to be constructed along the Miami waterfront.

“Over the past six months, I have poured my heart and soul into this project with my incredible team at @Trump. This landmark on the water in Miami, Florida will stand as a lasting testament to an amazing man, an amazing developer, and the greatest President our Nation has ever known,” Eric Trump wrote. “These images have never been seen by the public — until today. Enjoy!”

The video shows a sweeping collection of tributes to Trump’s projected legacy. Set near a large marina and colonnade of palm trees, a golden entrance to the proposed skyscraper — adorned with the American flag, an image of the presidential seal, as well as the “TRUMP” name —  opens into a large foyer hosting a plane perceived to have served as Air Force One, in addition to a VH-92A helicopter presumed to have served as Marine One. A towering golden statue of Trump can also be seen in a rendering of a packed auditorium. A pair of escalators — also exhibiting the president’s preferred golden color palette — offers visitors a heightened perspective and access to upper levels of the library. Replicas of the Trump-designed White House West Wing Colonnade, Rose Garden, and Oval Office, as well as the proposed state ballroom, are likewise shown to be points of interest to those learning about the famous New York real estate developer who was twice-elected commander in chief. Congress passed the Presidential Libraries Act in 1955, which created a system of privately established and federally overseen libraries. The Act encouraged presidents to donate their historical materials to the government for preservation and future accessibility. The Presidential Libraries Act of 1986 later required private endowments to share the cost of each facility’s maintenance.

The Donald J. Trump Presidential Library currently exists as a digital entity administered by the National Archives and Records Administration. It launched Jan. 20, 2021, the last day of Trump’s first term in office, providing public access to records of the 45th president. Having been elected to serve two nonconsecutive terms, Trump will continue to amass official records and other potential items for exhibition as the library moves closer to construction.

In anticipation of the library’s construction, Florida lawmakers voted to transfer several acres of Miami land to the Trump presidential library foundation.

The presidential library of Joe Biden is currently in the planning and fundraising phase and is expected to be located in Delaware. The 19-acre, $850-million library of Barack Obama is preparing to open June 18, 2026, in Chicago. George W. Bush dedicated his in Dallas in April 2013. His father, George H.W. Bush, dedicated his in College Station, Texas. in November 1997. Bill Clinton opened his in Little Rock, Ark. in November 2004.
