Jen Psaki Shuts Down Democrats Talk of the 25th Amendment Against Trump [WATCH]

MS NOW host Jen Psaki said talk of invoking the 25th Amendment against President Donald Trump is “not going to happen,” pushing back on growing calls from some Democrats during an interview with Stephen A. Smith, as reported by Fox News.

Psaki made the remarks Thursday during an appearance on Smith’s show, “Straight Shooter,” where the conversation turned to the political climate and the tone of opposition toward the president.

Smith asked whether the left’s approach to Trump had become overly intense, describing it as “fervently against the other side” and at times “vitriolic.”

In response, Psaki acknowledged disagreements within her own political side and questioned the usefulness of focusing on measures she believes are unlikely to occur.

“I think there are times, I think a lot of people on — and I can’t speak for everybody on the left, I don’t agree with everything everybody says on the left either — you know, sometimes it’s like not constructive,” Psaki said.

“I mean, you’ve talked about the 25th Amendment. I have no issue with people saying they’re for invoking the 25th Amendment, but it’s not going to happen. So, it’s like why are we spending so much time, you know?”

Smith has also rejected calls to invoke the 25th Amendment against Trump, aligning with Psaki on the issue despite broader political disagreements.

Psaki continued by addressing what she described as a pattern of heightened reactions to the Trump administration, arguing that constant escalation does not lead to productive outcomes.

“And part of that goes hand-in-hand with like you have to scream at the top of your lungs about everything that comes out of the Trump administration,” she said.

“And I’m outraged by a lot of it. But I don’t think screaming about every single thing is the most constructive thing.”

The discussion comes as more than 50 Democratic lawmakers have publicly called for Trump’s removal through the 25th Amendment.

Those calls have been directed at members of the president’s Cabinet, who would be required to initiate the process under the constitutional provision.

Supporters of the effort have argued that Trump is unfit to serve, citing statements and actions tied to tensions involving Iran.

The push intensified following a social media post from the president warning that a “whole civilization will die” if the Iranian government did not agree to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Among those advocating for removal is Sen. Andy Kim, D-N.J., who made his position clear in remarks on the matter.

“I certainly think the president should be removed,” Kim said.

“I mean, he’s unfit for office. I think the 25th Amendment, and if not, then impeachment.”

The 25th Amendment outlines a process by which a president can be removed from office if deemed unable to discharge the powers and duties of the role.

Any such action would require coordination between the vice president and a majority of the Cabinet, followed by potential involvement from Congress.

Despite the calls from lawmakers, Psaki’s comments reflect skepticism about the likelihood of that process moving forward.

Her remarks also highlighted divisions over strategy within Democratic circles, particularly regarding how to respond to Trump’s statements and policies.
