President Donald Trump is making it clear that he’s done watching Democrats get away with inflammatory rhetoric while conservatives are endlessly smeared for far less.

On Thursday morning, Trump took to Truth Social to call for House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries to be charged with “inciting violence” following the White House Correspondents Dinner shooting in April, as reported by The Independent Journal Review.

Trump did not pull his punches.

“This lunatic, Hakeem ‘Low IQ’ Jeffries, should be charged with INCITING VIOLENCE! The Radical Left Democrats actually want to Destroy our Country,” he posted.

Here’s What They’re Not Telling You About Your Retirement

The statement came with a meme showing a CCTV still of the moment alleged shooter Allen Cole rushed a Secret Service checkpoint at the exclusive Washington event, along with an image of Jeffries at a political presser.

The presser in question took place on April 21, just one day after the shooting shook the capital. Jeffries was standing proudly beside a poster of Trump’s face emblazoned with the phrase: “Maximum warfare everywhere all the time.”

The optics, to put it mildly, weren’t great.

When asked about the slogan by reporters, Jeffries didn’t back down. “I don’t give a damn about the criticism,” he said dismissively, insisting that the phrase came from a 2025 New York Times article discussing redistricting battles.

In other words, he borrowed liberal media language glorifying nonstop political conflict and plastered it over the face of a former president.

Republicans immediately called him out, saying his words and imagery were reckless given the volatile political climate. But predictably, Democrats shrugged it off as harmless.

This time, Trump isn’t letting it slide. His post re-ignited the issue, pointing out what he and millions of Americans see as a glaring double standard.

Trump’s reference to Jeffries’ “inciting violence” comment mirrors the incessant claims made against Trump himself after January 6, even though he explicitly called for peaceful protest.

State of the Union Address

The Left and their media allies still blame conservatives for everything from a misinterpreted tweet to the weather, yet when a Democrat uses militant language and a violent incident follows, they act as if it’s no big deal.

Earlier this week, Trump also questioned why Jeffries hadn’t faced any accountability for calling the U.S. Supreme Court “illegitimate” following rulings on race-based gerrymandering.

“If a Republican said half the things Jeffries says about our institutions, they’d be impeached before breakfast,” a senior GOP staffer told us.

The irony is rich. Democrats have spent years chanting about protecting democracy, yet their own leaders casually insult the judiciary and label political opponents as enemies of the state.

Trump’s demand isn’t just about Jeffries; it’s about exposing a political class that enforces one set of rules for Republicans and none for themselves.

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting added fuel to the fire. It reminded Americans of how tense Washington has become, where even supposedly light-hearted events can turn dangerous.

When violence breaks out anywhere near the political arena, the Left is quick to connect dots when it benefits them, but allergic to responsibility when it doesn’t.

Jeffries’ refusal to tone down his rhetoric isn’t surprising. The Democratic leader has built his brand on aggressive soundbites and partisan jabs. But Trump’s call for legal accountability raises the stakes.

The question looms: if political speech can be criminalized for some, shouldn’t it apply to all? Or does justice only apply when the target has an “R” next to their name?

For conservatives, the moment feels familiar. They remember being blamed for everything from lawn signs to an unflattering meme, while Democrats laugh off language that reads like a call to political war.

It is not just hypocrisy; it is a strategy meant to silence one side and excuse the other.

Trump’s critics will scoff at the idea that Jeffries could face charges. But that’s the point. They see no problem labeling Trump a “threat to democracy” while ignoring their own party’s violent fringes. The silence on the Left speaks volumes.

At the end of the day, Trump’s message is hitting its target. His supporters are fired up, and even moderates are questioning the glaring imbalance.

Americans of all stripes want a justice system that applies evenly, regardless of political affiliation. Until that happens, Trump’s warning about a “two-tiered system” will continue to resonate far beyond the Beltway.
