Everybody Shocked to Learn That Another Mamdani-Backed Candidate Is a Communist

Who could have guessed that yet another candidate that Zohran Mamdani endorsed—this time in a Congressional primary to take out a prominent New York Congressman who is the leader of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus—is a communist?

Not me. PolitiFact assured me in a fact-check that Mamdani, despite all his statements and social media posts, is not a communist because his campaign website failed to use that word!

Was I deceived by PolitFact? Say it isn’t so!

Chevalier told CNN the posts, from five years, do not reflect who she is today.

Avilia Chevalier jumped into the congressional district primary to oust Democratic Rep. Adriano Espaillat, a 5-term congressman who succeeded Charlie Rangel. She is, unsurprisingly, a far-leftist who works for the public defender’s office and is steeped in all the trendy DSA/Communist ideology of defunding the police, seizing private property, and, of course, wiping Israel off the map. 

She’s a character out of central casting for a modern-day communist, and hence a rising star in the Democratic Party. 

Darializa Avila Chevalier, a democratic socialist congressional candidate endorsed by New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, deleted a previous Twitter account that included thousands of posts and reposts expressing support for abolishing police, prisons and borders, as well as seizing private property and nationalizing major industries and calling into question Israel’s right to exist.

Avila Chevalier, a 32-year-old investigator at a public defender’s office in New York City and doctoral student, has emerged as one of the most prominent left-wing challengers in the country after Mamdani endorsed her bid to unseat longtime Democratic Rep. Adriano Espaillat in New York’s 13th Congressional District.

But the posts from her since-deleted account from over the last decade have drawn scrutiny amid her high-profile challenge of Espaillat, a five-term incumbent and chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. That primary, scheduled for June 23, has become a closely watched proxy battle between the Democratic Party’s establishment and its ascendant democratic-socialist wing, with Mamdani’s endorsement last week elevating the race’s national profile.

Chevalier is doing the same two-step that Graham Platner and just about every Democrat does these days to insist that what they have said and done is all far in the past, even though it was practically yesterday. “I got that tattoo covered up when I was caught!” “I deleted those statements when I decided to run for Congress!”

I am fully on board with forgiving posts by 16- or 18-year-olds, or even some acts by adults that took place decades ago. But we are in the “forget that I wanted to put you in camps during COVID” phase of liberal brainwashing. Chevalier, for instance, was, as an adult just a couple of years ago, deeply involved in organizing the Columbia University occupation filled with Hamas supporters. 

Surprise, surprise. She is a Muslim convert, too. 

While reports in the New York Post and Politico previously highlighted several deleted social media posts in which Avila Chevalier criticized police, Israel and Democratic politicians, a CNN KFile review of hundreds of deleted posts and reposts found ones that called for abolishing police, prisons and borders; tweets about communism; calls for open borders and zero deportations; and expletive-laden attacks on Democrats.

In a statement to CNN, Avila Chevalier said the posts did not reflect who she is today and accused Espaillat of trying to distract from issues facing the district.

“My opponent wants to live in the past. He is re-litigating social media posts from half a decade ago, and continuing to champion an outdated politics that fails to serve our people,” Avila Chevalier said. “I have grown considerably since in the years since these tweets, and I am focused on our community and our community’s future.”

How willfully ignorant do you have to be to buy that pile of BS? 

Willfully ignorant enough to be a Democrat; they managed to convince themselves that Joe Biden was “sharp as a tack” as he drooled and crapped his pants right in front of their eyes. 

Of course, a substantial number of Democrats actually WANT a communist takeover of the Democratic Party, while what I call the “organized crime” faction of the party is starting to panic. The fact that this story appeared in CNN at all, or that there is a sudden deluge of opposition research on Graham Platner, shows that the Organized Crime Democrats are desperate to stop the Bolshevik Democrats from completing their takeover of the Party. 

The deleted posts also reflected hostility toward prominent Democrats couched in profane terms after Bernie Sanders ended his 2020 presidential campaign.

“I have no nuance to add. Fuck Kamala Harris,” she posted after Harris told Guatemalan migrants in September 2021 not to come to the United States illegally.

Imagine the horror of the Organized Crime Democrats, whom I have nicknamed the “Mensheviks,” at seeing the Bolsheviks suddenly becoming ascendant. They have already been losing their access to unlimited ready cash through DOGE, massive welfare fraud, and USAID, and now the Bolsheviks are stealing their power base. 

And it’s all their fault. They allied with Antifa and the Democratic Socialists, who are just rebranded communists, in order to excite the younger people their teacher union allies have trained up to be zealots, and now they are discovering that they have created a monster that is trying to eat them. 

Chuck Schumer must know he is toast, which explains the Hail Mary try to get Platner to drop out of the Maine Senate race, which almost certainly will fail, and Whitmer and company must be beside themselves watching Mamdani ascend as their own political futures become uncertain. 

Still, Democrats who still consider themselves centrists or center-left will fool themselves into believing that these people are still fringe, and that nothing is worse than having a Republican within a mile of themselves since Republicans are fascists. They will believe that until the moment they are put against the wall.
