An Idaho woman who publicly claimed her 18-month-old twins died after receiving vaccinations has now been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the children’s deaths, as reported by Fox News.

Andrea Shaw, 23, was indicted on two counts of first-degree murder, according to an announcement from the Payette Police Department last week.

Authorities said Shaw was arrested Tuesday in Boise before being extradited to Payette County.

The charges stem from the deaths of Shaw’s twin toddlers, Dallas and Tyson, who were found dead in a shared bed on May 1, 2025.

While investigators have not publicly announced an official cause of death, an indictment filed in Payette County alleges Shaw killed the children by suffocation, according to KTVB.

Law enforcement officials previously confirmed only that the boy and girl were discovered deceased in the shared bed.

The investigation continued for more than a year before prosecutors presented the case to a grand jury, resulting in the murder indictment.

Shortly after the children’s deaths in 2025, Shaw and her husband appeared on a podcast funded by Children’s Health Defense, an anti-vaccine organization previously led by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

During that appearance, Shaw claimed the twins became ill after receiving three vaccinations and later died.

Those statements have remained part of the public discussion surrounding the case, but prosecutors have now alleged in court documents that the children’s deaths were the result of homicide rather than a medical event.

Shaw’s attorney, Joe Filicetti, continues to dispute the allegations against his client.

“They were looking at it as a vaccine death, and that’s still what I believe it to be,” Filicetti told KTVB.

Filicetti did not provide evidence supporting that assertion.

According to Filicetti, Shaw recently gave birth prematurely to another child through a cesarean section.

He also said Shaw’s husband is currently caring for the newborn while the criminal case proceeds.

Following her arrest in Boise, Shaw was initially booked into the Ada County Jail before authorities transferred her to Payette County to face the charges.

Court records indicate she is being held on a $2 million bond.

The indictment represents the first criminal charges filed against Shaw in connection with the deaths of Dallas and Tyson.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding evidence supporting the allegations contained in the indictment, and investigators have not publicly discussed what led them to conclude the children’s deaths were the result of homicide.

The Payette Police Department announced the indictment after the grand jury returned two counts of first-degree murder.

The criminal proceedings will now move forward in Payette County, where prosecutors are expected to present evidence supporting the allegations contained in the indictment.

Shaw, through her attorney, continues to maintain that the twins’ deaths were related to vaccinations rather than any criminal act.

The case has drawn attention because of the earlier public statements made by Shaw and her husband regarding the cause of the children’s deaths, which differ sharply from the allegations now contained in the criminal indictment.

As the case proceeds through the Idaho court system, prosecutors will bear the burden of proving the charges beyond a reasonable doubt.

Shaw is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
