Democrats Are Now Debating Who Is ‘Too Jewish’

There are many reasons why Jews in America have leaned left. Anyone who has attended a Seder should at least have glimpsed that reason: at the core of Jewish identity is the idea of liberation from slavery, and most Jews have been educated in a tradition that speaks of Tikkun Olam, or “Repairing the World.” 

It’s why the Jews were so passionate about the Civil Rights movement. Even after millennia since leaving slavery in Egypt, that slavery was core to their identity. 

My grandmother was nominally Jewish, but the kind of New York Jew whose only frequent references to God were made to blame Him for all the sorrows of the world. Which, to be fair, is very New York Jew. When I visited her in New York City, I met so many clones of Bernie Sanders that the first time I saw him I almost assumed I had met him as well. 

Still, she was very Jewish. She taught English and Drama at a Yeshiva, worshipped education and social mobility, and while she was a socialist whose friends were outright communists (she refused to join the Party because she loathed Stalin), she raised her sons to integrate into American society, and did not hate it in the least. 

She believed in reform, not revolution.

The Democratic Party used to have a place for Jews like this. It was, in fact, their natural home, as frustrating as that is for people like me who saw her as a lovely person with outrageously idealistic and unrealistic views of human nature. She believed that repairing the world meant teaching everybody to be nicer; I believed that it meant fighting evil, which will never be eradicated. 

The current crop of Democrats defines itself in opposition to those whom they believe to be evil, and that is you, me, and above all, the Jews.

The antisemitic trope of Jews as “puppeteers” just made it to daytime TV unchallenged.

Last week, @CthaGod claimed on @TheView that “America is not in control … and I don’t feel like they ever have been” and called President Trump “Netanyahu’s puppet.” 

The show’s hosts offered no pushback. The audience applauded.

“Through their polite silence, The View laundered a toxic trope and mainstreamed it. Such passive enablement is precisely how prejudice is normalized,” writes @JKouzi36.

This is what a breakdown in mainstream media accountability looks like:

Antisemitism is now baked into the Democratic Party, whether the few remaining non-antisemites want to believe that or not. When you can go on CNN or ABC and speak about Jewishness being a problem or Jews being the puppet masters in America, antisemitism has been mainstreamed.

“Are all Jews parasites, or is it just the bad ones?”

“We should clean out the synagogues… of certain kinds of behavior… certain flags, certain prayers.”

Premier “As a Jew…”s Matt Lieb and Daniel Maté invite fellow Jew-hater Susan Abulhawa to their podcast to reiterate the notion that Jews are “parasites,” all while demonizing Holocaust museums, quoting Yahya Sinwar, and comparing the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising to Hamas tunnels.

There are Democratic Party Jews who are trying to adopt the role of Kapos, catering to the antisemites in hopes that they can be among the last against the wall, and the antisemites might, when forced, support an anti-Israel Jew over a less-anti-Israel Jew (the Goldman v. Lander), but as we all saw, Mamdani’s wife made clear she wanted nothing to do with a dirty Jew. 

We have reached the point where hatred of Jews is almost a prerequisite for advancement; so much so that even people like James Carville, who hates almost everyone, says he is done with the Party (we’ll see).

Fetterman is being excommunicated because he wants nothing to do with the “dirtbag” Democrats, and he is one of the few willing to stand up and say the truth. Josh Shapiro, who wants to be president, is trying to walk a fine line, but let’s face it: he “codes” Jewish. It’s so obvious that this is a topic of conversation on CNN. 

Some Democrats are trying to say it’s a “both sides” problem, except…it really isn’t, is it? When Megyn Kelly and Tucker Carlson dove into antisemitism, they were basically excommunicated. Carlson has outright left the party. Candace talks so much about the Jooos that it is a joke. 

We have reached the point where what was said behind closed doors—Shapiro is too obviously Jewish—is now fodder for CNN panels. 

It is only going to get worse. The antisemites are winning, just as the communists are, because their power base depends on recruiting Islamists.
