Trump Pounds Iran With 90 Strikes And Warns It Could Get ‘Much Worse’ [WATCH]

The United States launched a new round of military strikes against Iran on Wednesday after President Donald Trump said Tehran would face additional consequences following attacks on commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, as reported by Townhall.

According to the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), American forces struck approximately 90 Iranian military targets during the operation.

The targets included air defense systems, coastal surveillance assets, missile and drone storage sites, naval capabilities, and military logistics infrastructure positioned along Iran’s coastline.

CENTCOM said the operation was intended to reduce Iran’s ability to threaten international maritime traffic through one of the world’s most important shipping lanes.

In a statement released Wednesday night, CENTCOM said, “U.S. forces struck approximately 90 Iranian military targets, including air defense systems, coastal surveillance assets, missile and drone storage sites, naval capabilities, and military logistics infrastructure along Iran’s coastline.”

The military command added that the objective of the operation was “to further degrade Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping and innocent civilian mariners in the Strait of Hormuz.”

Earlier in the evening, Trump announced on Truth Social that the military response was tied directly to recent Iranian attacks on ships.

“This is in retribution for yesterday’s bombing of ships by Iran,” Trump wrote.

He also warned Tehran against any additional attacks.

“If it happens again, it will get much worse!” he wrote.

The United States has maintained that Iran repeatedly violated the memorandum of understanding by targeting cargo vessels operating in the Strait of Hormuz.

American officials have accused Iran of carrying out attacks against commercial shipping in the strategic waterway, prompting the latest military response.

CENTCOM also released a statement on X describing the mission and its purpose.

“At the direction of the Commander in Chief, U.S. Central Command forces have started conducting additional strikes against Iran to further degrade their ability to threaten freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz,” the statement said.

“The United States is holding Iran accountable for recent unjustified aggression against commercial shipping and civilian crews freely navigating a vital international waterway,” it continued.

The latest operation follows comments Trump made earlier Wednesday while discussing the status of the ceasefire with Iran.

The president indicated he believed the ceasefire had effectively ended and suggested he was no longer interested in pursuing negotiations with Iranian leaders.

Speaking before departing Turkey after attending the NATO summit, Trump expressed frustration with Iran’s leadership and questioned whether additional negotiations would be productive.

“They’re not doing a service to the people. And I’m not sure I want to make a deal with them […] Let’s just finish the job,” Trump said.

Earlier in the day, Trump also referred to Iranian negotiators as “scum” and suggested he no longer wanted to negotiate with them, although he said he would continue consulting with U.S. negotiators.

The military action marks another escalation in tensions between Washington and Tehran as the United States seeks to deter further attacks on international shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

The latest strikes focused on degrading Iran’s military capabilities connected to maritime operations, including missile, drone, naval, and logistics assets located along the country’s coastline.

Trump was returning to the United States from Turkey following the NATO summit as the strikes were carried out.
