The 34 second surveillance video, posted by Gun Lovers Club on X, shows the two suspects trying to kick in the door of a home.

One was brandishing a large revolver, seemingly confident that intimidation would guarantee success.

For nearly 15 long seconds, they struggled to gain entry, unaware that those few seconds would give the homeowner all the time he needed to grab his own firearm.

As the door finally gave way, the homeowner opened fire. The intruders got exactly what they came looking for, just not in the way they expected.

Judging by the footage, the criminals were lucky to escape with their lives, and they’ll no doubt think twice before breaking into another occupied home.

Massad Ayoob, president of the Second Amendment Foundation, told the Daily Caller News Foundation that the short video clip does not show the full picture.

“We don’t see enough here to form a valid opinion,” Ayoob explained.

“Critics will claim that the home defender is no longer in danger when the last two shots are fired, but the homeowner may be able to see what we cannot, such as the suspect raising his weapon again. We always have to wait for all the evidence to judge.”

That’s the key takeaway.

The left tends to rush to judgment against anyone who defends their own home, claiming they took things too far.

But as Ayoob wisely points out, none of us can know what the armed resident saw in that split second.

I tried to run off, but he grabbed his hands around my neck, and pushed me out of the counter space, and that’s when I pulled out my gun and I shot him.”

Thanks to her legally owned firearm, she is still alive. That confrontation could have ended like so many others, with the victim on the floor and her attacker walking free.

But instead, an armed citizen successfully defended herself and everyone else in that store.

Stories like these never seem to make the nightly news.

You can bet that if the gun owner had missed or been overpowered, the headlines would run for days.

When the right to self defense works exactly as intended, it is met with silence from the mainstream press.

It does not fit their narrative about “gun violence,” because it shows that responsible citizens can and do use firearms to protect innocent life.

The narrative falls apart when criminals face resistance.

Every time a homeowner or store clerk lawfully uses a firearm to stop a violent attack, it proves that gun control activists are targeting the wrong people.
