PatriotDadEV2.0 argued that rising gasoline and diesel prices are dominating economic discussions ahead of the midterm elections while overlooking what he described as improving real household income.

Pointing to a chart comparing real median household income during President Donald Trump’s first term, former President Joe Biden’s administration, and Trump’s current term, PatriotDadEV2.0 said voters should consider income growth after inflation when assessing the economy.

“So this might be one of the most important graphs that you’re going to want to have at your fingertips as you go out and start discussing the state of politics with your friends and family and neighbors and stuff between now and the midterm elections, because this actually shows what’s being built in this country right now,” PatriotDadEV2.0 said.

He acknowledged that fuel costs have become a significant concern, citing reports of gasoline reaching $4.79 per gallon in Idaho while saying prices in coastal Alabama remained at $3.69 per gallon.

“I mean, look, I get it. Gas prices are doing some absolutely bonkers things right now,” he said.

PatriotDadEV2.0 attributed diesel prices to the continuing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, while linking gasoline prices to developments involving Iran.

He also criticized Europe and NATO over the continuation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

He argued that instability surrounding Iran and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is also contributing to current conditions.

According to PatriotDadEV2.0, Iran’s currency is rapidly losing value as the country faces continued economic problems.

“So yeah, gas prices are going bonkers, but question for you, though: You’re paying $4.79 up in Idaho, God knows what you’re paying in California, who knows what it is in other parts of the, what the hell are you doing in those states? Down here in coastal Alabama, it’s $3.69 a gallon still,” he said.

Despite those fuel costs, PatriotDadEV2.0 said gasoline prices do not provide a complete picture of Americans’ financial circumstances.

“Nonetheless, doesn’t matter. I get it. It’s not fun, but it’s also not the full story,” he said.

PatriotDadEV2.0 said discussions on social media have emphasized gasoline prices while conversations between individuals are increasingly focused on income growth.

He argued that incomes are currently increasing faster than inflation.

“This is the story that people are starting to talk about: the fact that their incomes are growing at a pace faster than what inflation is,” he said.

He then turned to the chart comparing real median household income across presidential administrations. PatriotDadEV2.0 said the measurement accounts for inflation, allowing income changes during different periods to be compared.

“What this chart is showing you is a cohorted view of Trump 45, the entire Biden administration, and so far the progress in real median household income increases in Trump 47,” he said.

According to the figures cited by PatriotDadEV2.0, real median household income increased by $569 during the Biden administration, compared with $6,640 during Trump’s first term.

He said the figure has increased by $1,964 so far during Trump’s current term after accounting for a 3.4% inflation rate.

“Now, if you look very close here, what you’re going to see is that the entirety of the Biden administration, the American people only experienced a $569 real household income increase over the entire four years,” PatriotDadEV2.0 said.

“Throughout Trump 45, the American people experienced a $6,640 real median household income increase, and so far, in Trump 47, $1,964 in real median household income increase after taking into consideration the the 3.4% inflation rate.”

The historical comparison broadly resembles an analysis published by the Committee to Unleash Prosperity, which estimated approximately $6,400 in real median household income growth during Trump’s first term and $550 during Biden’s term.

The Census Bureau’s official annual household-income series uses a different methodology and reported real median household income of $83,730 in 2024.

PatriotDadEV2.0 said his figures mean real median household income growth during Trump’s current term has already substantially exceeded the increase he attributed to the four years of the Biden administration.

“So far in Trump 47, the median real household income, meaning income that you keep after inflation is taken out of it, is three and a half times that that you experienced all throughout the Biden administration,” he said.

He concluded by predicting that household finances would improve further if international tensions subside, specifically pointing to the IRGC and what he called the “British imperialist system.”

“Imagine what’s going to happen to your household income when the IRGC and the British imperialist system run out of leverage of the midterm election, and after the election is over, they just go away,” PatriotDadEV2.0 said.

“That is if they survive that long.”
