WWE’s Corey Graves points to these AAA stars who may impress fans at Triplemania 34

Part of the fun about watching pro wrestling is watching wrestlers you may have never heard of and seeing them do things you may have never seen before. There’s a ton of potential for that as Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide hosts Triplemania 34 on Friday and Sunday nights.

The AAA roster is filled with incredible talents and they will be featured in several matches during the two-night spectacle. Of course, there will be some notable WWE names mixed in like Dominik Mysterio, Rey Mysterio, Nattie, Roxanne Perez and others, but there’s much more to look out for.

AAA and WWE broadcaster Corey Graves spoke to OutKick Dropkick ahead of the event and pointed to a number of Luchadores and wrestlers pro wrestling fans may be impressed by when the dust settles. He first pointed to Mr. Iguana, whose popularity increased when he was showcased during the first WWE-AAA promoted event, Worlds Collide, last year.

“It’s interesting to me because I look at it a little differently because I look at it from within the wrestling bubble and it’s often that I’m pleasantly surprised by what captures people’s imaginations that aren’t hardcore wrestling people,” Graves said.

“Mr. Iguana, if you’re not familiar, he is not a physically large competitor. He’s an incredible athlete. He’s a really dangerous jiu-jitsu master, but the guy paints himself green. He has a stuffed iguana that competes in the ring with him. It’s somewhere in the in the world of the circus meets sports entertainment. He always increases his popularity pretty much every time you see him.”

La Parka will defend the AAA Latin American Championship against Laredo Kid and Mr. Iguana. WWE fans got a taste of what La Parka can bring to the ring when he was featured in the tournament to determine Roman Reigns’ challenger for his World Heavyweight Championship.

“La Parka is another one. El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. I think is going to be a major player in years to come. He’s still young, still kind of figuring things out, getting experience under his belt,” Graves said. “There are so many.”

Graves said he was really interested in the AAA Cruiserweight Championship match that will feature either Rey Fenix or Ricky Saints as the champion going up against Mini Vikingo, Jack Cartwheel and Nathan Frazer in a fatal four-way match.

In particular, it’s going to take place on Sunday, the Cruiserweight Championship match. You’ve got Rey Fenix, Mini Vikingo, Jack Cartwheel, and (Nathan Frazer),” he told OutKick Dropkick.

“(Jack Cartwheel is) a guy that has just absolutely set the world on fire. The athleticism is completely off the charts with all these guys. And there’s a chance in Mexico that the fans — like they say, ‘Esto es lucha,’ ‘This is wrestling,’ which is akin to the American or English speaking crowd saying, ‘this is awesome.’ It’s just the appreciation. And every time the cruiserweights are in the ring, it’s unbelievable … but that one’s going to leave jaws on the floor. I promise you that.”

As Graves previously told OutKick Dropkick, AAA provides something for everyone. He’s sure fans in Las Vegas or Mexico City or watching at home will leave impressed.
