Aaron Rodgers claimed Shailene Woodley asked to sleep with someone else shortly after accepting his marriage proposal, delivering the allegation during a scathing new interview about their former relationship, as reported by Page Six.

The 42-year-old athlete revisited their December 2020 engagement during Thursday’s episode of the “Not Just Football” podcast.

Rodgers acknowledged that Woodley may have “felt like she was forced to make a decision” about the proposal, but he insisted she “could have said no.”

According to Rodgers, Woodley accepted his proposal and then told him a couple of days later that she wanted to sleep with another man before they married.

The NFL player did not identify the person Woodley was allegedly referring to.

Rodgers also claimed the Emmy winner had “took off the ring” by March 2021. He said they made multiple attempts to reunite after that point, but none of those efforts restored the relationship.

“We had a couple of times where we tried to get reunited, and nothing ever happened,” the quarterback said. He also maintained, “There wasn’t even a relationship in 2022 to break off.”

Rodgers said Woodley directly rejected another attempt at reconciliation. “She literally told me, ‘I don’t want to be with you,’ after we tried some reconciliation in 2021,” he recalled.

During the podcast, Rodgers also railed against the “Fault In Our Stars” actress and other former partners for discussing him in interviews. He argued that he is “a lightning rod” whose name will “get [them] clicks.”

The Pittsburgh Steelers star then issued a direct demand to those who continue speaking publicly about him. “Move on with your life. Don’t mention me,” Rodgers said.

He specifically addressed Woodley while disputing the way he believes their breakup has been presented. “Shai, you left me, you took the ring off,” he continued.

Rodgers added, “Her story is that I ruined her life and gave her crazy depression because I left her. … What are we talking about regarding me ruining your life?” Woodley’s representative did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment about his claims.

His remarks appeared to reference Woodley’s 2024 interview with Outside magazine.

During that conversation, she described her relationship with Rodgers as “not right” and discussed a “really awful, traumatic” incident that occurred in early 2022 without specifying what happened.

“I felt like I lost my soul, my self, my happiness, my joy,” Woodley said. “I really understood depression and anxiety and, like, complete soul detachment. I knew I was depressed when I looked at a tree and felt nothing.”

The “Big Little Lies” actress, 34, described that period as “the lowest low of [her] life.” She also spoke in 2024 about repeatedly falling in love “over and over with unavailability.”

Woodley said she was no longer “interested” in people who “cross” or “disrespect” her. In a separate January 2023 sitdown, she called the split the “darkest, hardest time of [her] life.”

“My personal life was sh*tty, so it felt like a big pain bubble for eight months,” Woodley recalled. Her comments detailed the emotional toll of that period without publicly naming the unspecified incident she had referenced.

News of Rodgers and Woodley’s relationship emerged in February 2021, when reports revealed that they had begun dating the previous year.

Their engagement became public days later, although Rodgers now says the proposal occurred in December 2020.

Woodley has not debuted a new romance since the breakup. Rodgers, meanwhile, is married to a mystery woman named Brittani, whom he discussed during the same Thursday podcast appearance.

Rodgers called Brittani “the one that got away.” He explained that they initially dated and split in 2017 before eventually finding their way back to each other.
