Content creator Abbey Wellman turned the end of what she called a “long and emotionally draining process” into a divorce party, complete with a display listing the “10 worst things” her former husband did during their marriage, as reported by The New York Post.
The celebration took place at a Chicago bar, where a poster board resting on the counter quickly became the main attraction. Guests were filmed studying the list, with many appearing stunned by what they read.
Wellman posted the 60-second TikTok video in June, pairing the guests’ reactions with dramatic background music.
The clip has since attracted more than 30 million views and 45,000 comments from curious viewers clamoring to see what was written on the board.

The idea grew out of Wellman’s search for an appropriate party theme.
She ultimately settled on a nod to the movie “10 Things I Hate About You,” then used the board to explain the circumstances to friends who did not know the details.
“The board came into the picture when I wanted to choose a theme. I landed on ’10 Things I Hate About You.’
Only a small group of my friends really knew what was going on, and I wanted everyone to be on the same page,” Wellman told The Post.

The video focuses heavily on the guests as they read the poster.
One after another, their expressions change, with several seemingly left with their jaws on the floor by the accusations displayed in front of them.
Wellman said her friends had generally avoided pressing her for details about what happened during the divorce. Once the process was officially over, however, she no longer wanted to dodge the subject.
“I give a lot of credit to my friends for never asking what happened or what was going on during the divorce process. But I didn’t want to run away from conversation anymore. It felt freeing to have everyone on the same page once my divorce was officially finalized,” the creator explained.
The TikTok audience was not nearly as restrained as Wellman’s friends.
Viewers flooded the comments with demands to see the list, turning the hidden contents of the poster into an online mystery.
“Girl, if you don’t show us the damn board…” one commenter demanded.
Some viewers even tried taking screenshots and enlarging the image, only to end up with a blurry picture that revealed none of the sought-after details.
Another commenter suggested her own hypothetical list would be considerably worse. “Omg if I made a list it would be so much worse this is cake,” she wrote.
Wellman later addressed the clamor in another video using the Beyoncé “I didn’t have a pen and paper” trend.
Rather than spilling the details, she offered an explanation for why the internet still had not received the full story.
“When I had a divorce party, and it went viral, but I’m legally not allowed to post the board,” Wellman wrote in overlay text.
That disclosure did little to calm the crowd, which promptly began pitching increasingly creative ways to get around the problem.
“I’ll sign a NDA just to know lol,” one person joked. Another tried a more local approach, writing, “Wait you’re in Chicago I’ll literally buy you drinks; I need to know.”
One commenter proposed having someone else provide the information through another platform.
“What if a guest from the party post a story on Reddit with bullet points,” the person suggested.
Despite the relentless demands, Wellman said she was pleased that the original party video connected with so many people.
She specifically pointed to divorce among people in their 20s as a subject that receives little discussion.
“No one talks about divorce in your 20s, and the video has obviously been relatable to a lot of people. I hope it lets other women like me feel like they can celebrate the highs and lows of their life,” she said.
For now, the poster remains unseen by the wider audience that helped propel the video past 30 million views.
