It’s the final Sunday of August, and we’re getting things started this week with a Sceencaps favorite, Rachel Stuhlmann. She’s a former tennis player turned influencer who OutKick dubbed the world’s No. 1 tennis influencer.

It’s a title she didn’t take lightly when it was first handed out a few years back. She went all in on doing her part to grow the game of tennis through social media content, and I’m happy to report she’s still at it.

Rachel, who now considers herself to be the “World’s 1st Tennis Influencer,” is back at the U.S. Open churning out content.

She’s on the court. She’s at the parties. And she’s even teaming up with retired tennis player Genie Bouchard.

Wherever tennis needs her is where you’ll find Rachel Stuhlmann. She isn’t just handing out tips on a random court far away from the action. She’s on the ground at events and that’s intentional.

BZZR ‘CUTTING OUT THE NOISE’ FROM SPORTS SOCIAL MEDIA SPACE GREAT FOR CREATORS, SPORTSCASTER JON ALBA SAYS

“I’ve been creating tennis content for nearly a decade, long before sports creators became as common as they are today. I think that’s where the “OG” nickname comes from. I’ve been fortunate to help pioneer this space and watch it grow,” she told the Daily Star earlier this summer.

“The way I stay ahead is by continuing to evolve. I don’t just post content for the sake of posting – I think strategically about storytelling, what fans actually want to see, and how I can bring them closer to the sport.”

Rachel added, “Because I work across so many areas of professional tennis, whether it’s hosting, media, partnerships, or content strategy, I have access to stories and experiences that most fans don’t get to see. That’s what I try to share.”

The strategic storytelling is some of the best strategic storytelling you’re going to find, especially when it comes to the sport of tennis.

Cheeseburgers Again and More

– Gen X Warren M in Florida writes:

Hey SeanJo,

First day of FBS college football, and I don’t care if it’s Week 0, it’s BACK! We’ve had the games on all day since I got home from a looooonnnngggg bike ride (half Ironman training).

Wife has been enjoying watching  football with me the past 13+ years, even if my Dolphins have been good to average to awful for a long time. At least her Lions look good. She wants to go to an FAU Owls game, but ever since Lane Kiffin rehabbed his career and bolted for the SEC, they’ve been bad.

Originally, I was going to grill up some ribeyes tonight, but something more simple made more sense for college football’s return. I was all about hot dogs, but decided cheeseburgers were more appropriate. Potato salad from Publix plus some Doritos on the side, and a Miller 64 (I burned a lot of calories).

The Tecovas beer coozie was free after buying my wife two pairs of cowboy boots in the past year from the local store 😂 They also give free beer, hard seltzers, and whiskey at their stores. When my wife was in love with a pair of boots she tried on, they handed me a double shot of whiskey and soon after, I handed them my card 🤣 👢 Happy wife, happy life!

I think we’ll do ribeyes next weekend and make sure I send a photo.

Take care!

Screencaps reader Gen X Warren M shares Week 0 thoughts and cheeseburgers.

SeanJo

I’m right there with you when it comes to Week 0, Gen X Warren. At some point after the UNC win over TCU, I had the multiview going.

It was football, football, and football until the second game of the Yankees-Red Sox doubleheader came on. The multiview was still going, but the Yankees game took up one of the boxes. As did a race for some of the time.

It was good to have a Saturday with college football on. Week 0 is the promise of things to come and once we get rolling it’s full steam ahead.

As for the cheeseburgers, I believe you know where I stand on them. I’m a “there’s never a bad time for a cheeseburger” guy.

A (guess the state) woman was arrested for breastfeeding drunk

Well, the official charge, according to WTSP, was child neglect. The breastfeeding of her 2-month-old infant while being too intoxicated to care for the child and a 2-year-old toddler played a role in the arrest.

The Largo Police in Clearwater, Florida were called to an Extended Stay America hotel last week after a witness alleged Tamisha Brodie, 32, “had fallen while holding her baby and became unresponsive multiple times.

The affidavit states that she showed signs of severe intoxication. She had slurred speech, glossy eyes and a strong odor of alcohol. Investigators found empty containers in her room. The kids reportedly had full diapers.

There was also no formula for the baby found. Mom was taken to Largo Medical Center for evaluation. Deputies said she had a blood-alcohol content of .295.

The infant, who she had allegedly been breastfeeding while intoxicated, was taken to a children’s hospital. There was no mention of the 2-month-old’s blood-alcohol content, although I think it’s safe to assume that the infant wasn’t able to drive.

The mother of the year nominee had her bond set at $15,000.

That’s all I have this week. Football is back. My Yankees continue to play inconsistently and September is arriving this week.

We’ve still got some summer and some prime grilling season left. Toss some meat on the grill and keep the pictures coming. I WANT TO SEE YOUR MEAT.
