I’ve never pretended to like Rep. Eric Swalwell. His anti-gun position is bad enough, but let’s not forget his response to people defending the Second Amendment as a defense against tyranny. He basically just said he liked the government’s chances because they had nukes, because nuking your own population is totally not a tyrannical thing to bring up.

Still, that was a while ago, but nothing since then has convinced me he’s any better than I thought he was.

But there have been some rumblings that suggest he’s an even bigger piece of crap than I thought.

A Democratic activist says she is working with multiple women preparing to come forward with sexual harassment allegations against California Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell.

Cheyenne Hunt — a lawyer, one-time congressional candidate and executive director of Gen-Z for Change — revealed that she has been working with an unspecified number of women set to accuse Swalwell in multiple X posts early Monday morning. Swalwell is currently a leading candidate in the crowded race to succeed Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

“I got involved because the first victim who approached me is a close friend, but when I saw that there were others who’s experiences fit the same pattern of manipulation and abuse of power, I knew I couldn’t stay silent,” Hunt wrote in her X thread. She specified that the allegations concern “DMs [direct messages] and Snapchat messages” and range “from uncomfortable comments to potentially criminal conduct.”

The Gen Z activist also claimed that Swalwell was targeting “employees, interns, and fans” and acted “as a mentor just to exploit that power.”

Swalwell’s office did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

Now, let’s understand that these aren’t really allegations. They’re allegations of allegations. It’s not that cut-and-dried at this point, and even if the allegations become completely public, that’s still not proof that Swalwell is guilty.

But there are two things that we need to remember.

First, at least this time, he wasn’t interested in sleeping with a Chinese spy pulling a honey pot, so there’s that.

Second, he’s not the first anti-gun lawmaker to face such allegations in 2026. Republican Rep. Tony Gonzales, who backed gun control following the Uvalde shooting, removed himself from contention to hold onto his seat after it became clear that he not just had an affair with a staffer, a clear violation of House ethics rules, but also pressured her into the relationship. The staffer later killed herself by self-immolation, which is just a disturbing way to do that.

And the Gonzales accusations have just gotten worse since then.

It sure looks like at least some of the anti-gunners out there are anti-gun because they figure they’re terrible enough people that someone will want to shoot them sooner or later. If not their victims (still alleged, at least for Swalwell), then their victims’ loved ones.

I mean, terrible people have a vested interest in making sure the people they want to prey on can’t respond, so it fits pretty well. I can’t say that’s the definitive case, even just for these two, but it sure looks that way, and I honestly don’t see a lot of evidence suggesting otherwise.

Luckily, Gonzales will soon be out of office, and Swalwell isn’t running for his congressional seat in addition to governor, which some people do. That means he’s out as well, though, being from California, it’s unlikely his replacement will be any better.

Editor’s Note: The radical left will stop at nothing to enact their radical gun control agenda and strip us of our Second Amendment rights.
