So, 2026 has been anything but uneventful. Yoinking a foreign president while the rest of us slept was kind of a big deal, especially as it happened so quickly and surgically.
But, unfortunately, 2025’s stupidity is spilling over into this year. Once again, there are people who don’t seem to understand the difference between “immigrant” and “illegal immigrant.”
In Minneapolis, things came to a head on Wednesday when a woman was shot by ICE agents. Why? Well, let’s get to that, and why people need to understand what happened.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey launched a furious attack on ICE after an officer gunned down a Minneapolis mom during an immigration operation Wednesday — leading a charge of local Dems who blasted the feds and immediately said the shooting was not justified.
“To ICE, get the f–k out of Minneapolis. We do not want you here,” Frey said during a fiery press conference after the deadly shooting.
“Your stated reason for being in this city is to create some kind of safety, and you are doing exactly the opposite.”
The blistering rhetoric from Frey, lame-duck Gov. Tim Walz and other leaders in Minnesota led critics to accuse them of stoking the flames.
…
The reactions came within a few hours of the caught-on-camera ICE shooting of Renee Nicole Good, 37, whom the Department of Homeland Security labeled a “domestic terrorist” who was trying to run down agents.
Video appears to show her SUV clipping the agent as he opened fire.
I’m not sure which video the New York Post viewed, but this is the one I saw, which I’d embed if X wasn’t being stupid about it.
It’s pretty clear that no one opened fire until Good’s vehicle started toward the ICE officer in question. It looks like the only reason she didn’t plow him over is that she had poor traction on the ice and couldn’t.
Folks, a motor vehicle of any kind is a large missile. The faster it goes when it hits something, the more potential damage it can cause. However, because of the amount of power available, it doesn’t have to move that fast to cause serious bodily harm.
From a Second Amendment perspective, for average citizens, someone trying to plow them over is grounds to act in self-defense, particularly in a Stand Your Ground state.
In this case, it wouldn’t matter because law enforcement never has a duty to retreat first.
A lot of people don’t seem to understand, though, that an SUV is considered a deadly weapon. Just because most of the fatalities involving them are unintentional doesn’t mean they can’t be used intentionally to take a person’s life. We’ve all heard stories of people doing just that.
And what happened was that Renee Good appears to have tried to use hers against federal agents trying to enforce immigration law.
Frey and Walz are talking big, but they’re politicians. Their rhetoric isn’t always going to reflect the facts. It’s about firing up their supporters, not looking at the facts in a reasonable way.
This is on video, though, so people can see for themselves.
Unfortunately, far too many people are far too blind to look at the video without their preconceived notions getting in the way.
