VIDEO: Tom Sits Down with The Pew Pew Jew to Discuss Bondi Beach and Gun Rights for Jews

I’ve known Yehuda Remer, the Pew Pew Jew, virtually for quite a while. He’s a good guy and I’m glad to know him.

When Bondi Beach happened, and I was looking to make a video for my YouTube channel, he was really the only person I could think of to bring on. Besides knowing him for a good while, he’s a gun influencer and a Jew who has made it his personal crusade to inform his brethren of their right to keep and bear arms and how important it is to their own safety.

Plus, how to exercise it.

This was probably one of the most important discussions I’ve had about gun rights, in part because it’s vital that people understand their right to keep and bear arms and why they matter so much.

For Jews or any group that has been targeted for hate crimes and other acts of oppression, guns are a form of freedom in and of themselves. They mean that you do not need to fear being targeted. You don’t have to worry about something like Bondi Beach happening to you.

That’s shattered, though, via things like harsh laws that minimize concealed carry, gun-free zones that often include places of worship like synagogues, and other laws that are sold as the means to keep people safe, but do the opposite.

Meanwhile, the hateful bastards who would kill people at a Hanukkah celebration aren’t deterred by bans on semi-automatic rifles. We saw that, and we saw how quickly at least one of the terrorists worked that bolt.

Yes, Yehuda and I talked about that quite a bit.

Yet why do so many Jews support gun control?

I asked Yehuda, and he gave me a solid take that I believe has a lot of validity to it. (Watch the video to see it.)

However, since our talk, I’ve been thinking a bit about it, and I think there’s another layer there. I think that many Jewish people have been indoctrinated into believing the anti-gun rhetoric, the idea that if we pass extensive gun control, then the hateful people won’t have guns. Sure, Bondi Beach illustrates the folly of that kind of thinking, but that’s how it’s been framed in the mainstream media for quite some time.

Look, I’m a Christian. I’m not Jewish, and I’m not interested in becoming Jewish.

But the truth of the matter is that I can look at what Jews have endured for centuries and respect them as a people. As Yehuda told me, Jews aren’t supposed to be docile. They’re a warrior race. The Old Testament is filled with Jewish heroes who did battle with their enemies. I respect warrior cultures, and I would love to see Jews remember that and learn that fighting back against those who would hurt them is a good thing, if for no other reason than it protects others down the road who can’t.
