We had another fantastic week of college football. We’re only four weeks in and there were some big early season wins and losses that took place.
Texas held on in Tennessee, Iowa took out Michigan on the last play of the game in Ann Arbor and Ole Miss got smoked by the Florida Gators.
It was during an Ole Miss game earlier this season that the first viral internet star of the season was discovered. On Saturday, during Florida’s win over Ole Miss, then ranked No. 4, the cameras spotted another.

This time a Florida fan was spotted in the crowd in the fourth quarter of a 10-point game in The Swamp. She was identified a short time later, then leaned into the attention.
Peyton Blomquist quickly jumped from less than 10k followers on Instagram to more than 36k as I’m writing this. I’m sure, like Ole Miss fan Sara Smith, her DMs are a mess.
So far she hasn’t decided to do a play-by-play of her favorites. She simply captioned a post “Work the cut” and, in doing so, acknowledged that she was the viral fan from Florida’s big win in Gainesville over Ole Miss.

I wrote on Saturday after witnessing a moment we’ve seen many times before, “A proper shot of the crowd is an important part of the entire football experience. This cameraman captured the action in the stands at the Ole Miss vs Florida game perfectly. It’s an art form really.”
I stand by that. Some moments are bigger than others and some viral stars are able to make more of their moments than others.
But it’s part of the modern game of football. You never know when a crowd shot will discover the next Jenn Sterger or Katherine Webb.
