An Russian oil refinery in western Siberia was shut down after an air strike by a Ukrainian drone. It’s not known how long the refinery will be out of operation but for now it is entirely shut down.

According to the sources, the July 25 drone strike set fire to a diesel hydrotreating unit with a capacity of 2.6 million metric tons per year, as well as a combined high-octane gasoline production unit.

The sources said it is difficult to estimate how long repairs will take.

Here’s video:

This appears to be the drone strike. Why is someone filming this? Because these drones are pretty loud and people can hear them coming. But apparently there were no anti-aircraft missiles nearby.

Meanwhile there are a few other strikes worth mentioning, including this one on a ship in the Sea of Azov.

Somewhere in the southern part of occupied Ukraine, a Russian train was carrying tankers full of fuel. It also got hit.

That oil was probably headed for Crimea where things continue to be difficult.

A Ukrainian drone campaign against Crimea’s power grid has left hundreds of thousands of people in the Russia-held territory without electricity for days at a time.

“Power went off and didn’t come back on, even for an hour,” for 15 days, said Olga, who lives with her husband and their baby in northern Crimea. They often had no running water, either. “Authorities have forgotten about us, that’s clear to see,” she said by telephone…

Crimean officials have not publicized the extent of the blackouts, merely assuring residents that they were working on it. But a top Russian diplomat told the state-owned Tass news agency that in a single week, Ukrainian strikes had cut power to the homes of 1.4 million Crimeans, out of a prewar population of 2.5 million…

Even in central Crimea, where blackouts are less severe, the train station is shuttered. So are many stores, with “no power” signs on their doors. Supermarket shelves are not well stocked.

Almost none of what is happening is being shown on Russian television, but individuals in Crimea (usually women) are posting about it on social media.

This woman says there are “sleeper agents” helping direct the Ukrainian drones.

But this last video is getting the most attention. A woman from Crimea walks into a bank to ask for a loan. She’s told the bank is no longer offering loans to people with a Crimea address.

A Crimean woman asks an Alfa-Bank employee a simple question:

“Is Crimea ours?”

Instead of simply saying “yes,” he replies:

“That’s a provocative question.”

He then ads that the bank refuses to issue loans to people with Crimean registration.

Today’s meltdown in russia is over this video.

It’s a “provocative question” because the loan manager probably can’t answer it honestly. Crimea belong to Russia for the moment but that may not be the case six months from now if the power is still out.
